I wanted my moth to morph into a butterfly so I treated it like a stamped image. I outlined the moth with a black pen (in the first card) and added highlights with a few Copic markers and a white gel pen. The flower is created from the moths wings.

Lately I have really been into the bright and bold colors and patterns. This DigiKit called Wowy Kazowy by Betsy Tuma is chock full of great papers, buttons and all kinds of great things. The name Wowy is perfect for this kit :)I used one of the words in this kit for the flower stem and the sentiment is from SRM stickers.

I wanted to make a happy card for a family that needs prayers in a big way. Their father is extremely ill and he doesn't have a terribly long time left :( The children are young so I wanted to make a fun and whimsical card to let them know I am praying for them. This DigiKit by Sugar Pop is exactly what I needed. It's called Kittykat Kit and it's soooo much fun to get creative with.

Caardvarks Wedding Challenge Ends Tonight

This card was so much fun to make. I was going to use this for the Win A Day at the Hero Arts blog with Jennifer then I decided I didn’t want to use it for some reason so I opted to use it for the CAARDVarks Wedding Challenge. Check out this Birthday Cake stamp from Hero Arts. I stamped the cake part several times then stamped with this Lace Background stamp . See the photo to see how I pieced the “wedding” cake together ( When I took these photos I was in a rush that's why the sicky note is so sloppy)

I felt like the cake needed colors so I distresses with Broken China Distress Ink. I cut some of the flowers out and used some white Hero Arts flowers. Applied marker to all flowers then added Glossy Accents to give them some yummy frosting sheen. The sentiment is a sticker!! Hope you day is good! Hugs, Kathy
P.S. If you haven’t noticed by now I’m not a writer or a good communicator so I hope I haven’t totally confused you???

SRM Stickers

Hello All,
Have you stopped by the SRM Stickers Blog today? I'm so proud to announce with great excitement that I will be a part of the new SRM stickers design team! I am so thrilled and so honored to be working with Jenyfur and all of the talented ladies on this new team. I'm just pinching myself. Since Jenyfur started her position as communications director at SRM the new blog became a regular blog stop for me. As I marveled at the cards I realized what I was missing, yup that's it STICKERS. I went to a chain craft store and was really disappointed by the selection because the stickers were to large, to many, wrong color, and to busy. So naturally I had a new appreciation for the SRM stickers and wanted a fast and easy way to get so I applied for the design team position. I hope I will inspire you as I embark on this new journey. Please check out the talented ladies blogs and I hope you will FOLLOW the SRM sticker blog so you don't miss anything. There are challenges, prizes and all kinds of inspiration! Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

Happy Valentines Day

I want to wish my special Hero Arts Flickr friends and blogger friends a very Happy Valentines Day. I hope that you felt special today? Mine got off to a rocky start and after working for hours on our ice that in areas it ranges from 2-5 inch on the driveway and front steps ... chipping the ice away and pouring at least a dozen kettles of boiling water over the ice on the steps I made some progress.  I showered and went to the rubber stamps store and Laura cheered me up. I was feeling down cause my teens couldn't even muster a hug for me.!! How sad is that?? After disappearing for a few hours my daughter made me a card and my son sent me a nice text message. So all is well that ends well. Isn't that how the saying goes?

Ok well...This first card for was for my daughter. I will enter this  for LUCY’s polka dot madness. The image is Pure Innocence and it's a digital image. This wonderful polka dot paper is from Jen Martakis digikit called Love One Another. Thanks again for your sweet comments they mean a lot especially when you have teenagers Hugs to you,Kathy

Sorry for the bad photo .... and  ...I have some exciting news for tomorrow :)

CPS Challenge ...Two Cards

I have literally 15 minutes to post this...the challenge over at 8:00 pm and I have to run to a meeting. I hope you all are having a great weekend and if you have snow ...I pray it's melting!!

Tea for Two

I love this tea pot from PapertryInk. I used a Hero Arts stamp to make the pattern on this tea pot. I used the same HA stamp for the background “paper”. I embossed both panels in clear (one panel on red paper and the blue one on white paper. Then I distressed the blue one with Broken China. After embossing both I stamped them with PapertreyInk’s Background Basics Text style in Distress ink. I colored the tea pot with Bo2, and G14 Copic colors. Pierced the heart for an added detail.

Just Because

For the background on this card I used PapertreyInk’s awesome Giaga Gride Lines #59 in Hero Hues Ink lavender. Inside the white I used PapertreyInk’s Background Basics Text style in Distress ink (milled lavender) To color the flower I used a variety of Copics in random purples. Applied Glossy Accents to the flower petals that I used as leaves. This lovely flower is Hero Arts CL374 “Big and Small Flowers” The sentiment is from PapertreyInk.

Michelle Underwood's NEW DigiKit & Card Patterns Challenge

Happy Birthday

For my inspiration I used the Card Patterns Sketch #50 and will enter it in their  weekly challenge  HERE. There are so many fun elements in this DigiKit by Michelle Underwood called Beautiful Ending. Many of the papers are perfect for masculine cards and this particular card is for my son’s 18th Birthday. I hope he doesn’t mind the bird I just wanted to make something different. I embossed the balloons with Faded Jeans distress ink and clear embossing powder. I Colored the bird with Copic markers and added some white pen detail on one of the balloons.
Hero Arts Stamps: CL381 Wonderful Birthday (balloons), CG155 Hugs and Kisses Bird, Ranger Distress Ink: Walnut & Faded Jeans

So Glad....

Hero Arts Stamps CL417 called Huge Hugs (sentiment)

This card is from the same DigiKit and I just love this frame and I LOVE the papers I used in this card!! I distressed all the elements with Ranger Walnut distress ink and applied Glossy Accents to the frame after I cut it out. This was very difficult for me to stop with out adding an image or ribbon etc. I just felt leaving it alone was best in the end. Off to shovel and take some pics of how deep our snow is. Have a great day! Hugs,Kathy

Squigglefly's Challenge and a Two Peas DigiKit

Sweet Olga

This babushka doll is one of two and it’s only $2.5. I thought this image was perfect for SquiggleFly’s Challenge #35 .The challenge is to make a shaped card for Valentine’s Day using  non-traditional colors. Squigglefly now has a new twist on the prizes either a fun goodie bag or a free digital image. ( A Squigglefly image does have to be used to be eligible for a prize. ) This beautiful drawing is one of Jane Beljo’s. For the card I pieced the paper with this great DigiKit called Can’t Buy Me Love by Shimelle Laine. I colored on top of the red pieces of the paper to add some depth and added Glossy Accents to the flower in her hair. I just love the richness of this paper. I’ll be back tomorrow with more snow photos. Today we had a blizzard and high winds with MORE SNOW!!!!!! I hope you all are having better weather and thanks for  your heart warming comments. Hugs,Kathy

Another Winter Storm Tomorrow and some pictures

Right now most of our neighborhood is still in the dark. We are still recoverying from the 29 inches of snow that has turned life upside down and around... It's all good just crazy not having a routine or anything and not being able to do any of my stamping and blogging stuff! So I apologize for not being around and I really miss it too!

Here is a picture of my darling 18 year old. Can you believe this was the best I was able to snap.

Check out our cooler. We ran out of room in the fridge cause the two families staying brought some of their food so it didn't' spoil  AND we had to have cold beers for the super bowl.

With that said I don't have enough energy to pick up a marker and that's BAD! The power went out (except we have a generator) so we hosted two-three families overnight ... Imagine the bedding, pillows, boots , required food etc!!! So... After rolling into bed at 1am exhausted the phone rings at 2:30am... Our neighbors CO2 monitor was screaming so naturally we wanted them to come over. I felt so bad for them climbing up a big hill in the snow at the wee hours in the pitch black with their two dogs in tow....with their bedding (we were tapped out) to climb up our icy steps and then to fall asleep in strange bed rooms. It was a great adventure hosting 12 people and 3 dogs for one night and hanging out for days eating and eating, baking, cooking, movies ... One that I wouldn't trade. I have lost track of the days and we are bracing for another winter storm tomorrow with a predicted possible TEN inches! I pray our roof holds up and the gutters will probably rip off but, if we are safe I can live with that.

My neighbor made cookies for the party and put them in this beautiful ice bucket which she gifted me so I wanted to make her a thank you card inspired by it. How lucky I am!

Here is a photo of the owl purse.

I hope you all are safe and cozy without any snow coming your way. I have a card to share tomorrow so see you then.

My Aunt Gave Me a

owl purse so I thought it would only be fitting to give her an owl card. I loved this color combination from this DigiKit called Spring Fling by Shelley Castillo available at Two Peas.

I embossed the owl with black embossing powder and  painted the him with Ranger distress inks ( Faded Jeans and Mustard Seed). After  the ink dried I added some white pen detail. The heart with the bow is inspired by Jennifer McGuire. We are expecting 12 - 24" of snow tomorrow ....I hope you are getting some sunshine. Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

Feeling Groovy

Hello All, Don't you just love these images from Pure Innonce? For this gal's clothes I used a Hero Arts stamp to give her outfit a groovy feeling. My Favorite Things Blog is having a Monthly Guest Designer contest and there is a chance to win over $125.00 in products so I thought it would be fun to try. I just love these Pure Innocence stamps that they sell. HERE are the details on the guest design spot. I am also entering this card for the  Card Patterns Sketch Challenge. It’s going to be a busy week because my son is turning 18 (yes...yikes) so we are having family and close friends on Sunday for Super Bowl Sunday and I’ll be cooking for 30 people so I have lots to do. What about you...any plans??? See you tomorrow! Hugs,Kathy

Yes you are at The Daily Marker

and thanks for stopping by again. I was so inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s  butterflies I just had to do some of my own. I have been working on these critters for a few weeks on and off because I was really feeling like I needed a makeover for my blog.

Lucy is hosting a challenge at her blog and all you have to do is have some glitter on a card here are the details.
So kind
I used an embossing folder and then went over the embossed lettering with a glue pen and sprinkled with glitter on a few letters at one time. The flowers are Hero Arts and I colored them so long ago I'm not even sure what set they are from. I added Glossy Accents to them and the button is vintage from an antique store. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
P.S. My goal is to get to everyone's blogs this weekend and leave some comments. Thank you for taking the time to leave your heartwarming comments here.

Hugs and Love

I made this for the Hero Arts Friendship Challenge and the CAARDvarks Heart Challenge and tonight is the deadline. I can’t wait to see what challenges are on the drawing board.
