Lots of different things to share today

it's has been so busy with my son's graduation and this was the only photo I was able to get snapped with his hat on. I am so proud of him :)

and then my daughter turned fifteen so fifteen of these gals went to dinner for her Birthday. My dd is on the right in blue.
fortunately I had a bit of time to make her a card with this new Hero Arts stamp here
lots and lots of tiny dots. The black dots are with the new Sharpie "fine" pen. Of course I had to use my trusty SRM sticker for the sentiment. I encourage for you to have some on had for a quick card. I used this sticker sheet here.
I used the sketch from CPS sketch challenge.
and I just have to show you this stamp set I am dying to buy. It's one of the new releases from Penny Black called Betsy Bluebell. Isn't she soooooo adorable....love her!! You can find her right here.

Thanks for stopping and sorry I haven't been by your blog. Have a great week :)

SRM Stickers and DeLovely Blog Hop

Hello friends today is SRM Stickers DeLovely Blog Hop!
To start, please visit SRM Stickers blog for a full list of blogs to visit and the blog hop details.
The hop continues all weekend long with a chance to win a SRM Prize Package.

If you are hopping you have just visited the wonderfully talented Amy's blog and now it's my turn. I hope my work reflects how much I loved working with this lovely "DeLovely" collection by Cosmo Cricket.

I am so in love with these elegant flowers and these in particular I cut out from the paper. I outlined the flowers and bird with a thin black sharpie  and it gave them more dimension. Since I was in the mood to doodle I had to add some of my white dots with my trusty white gel pen. I cut the "believe" from this  sticker sheet from SRM. The frame and bird are chipboard ...more on that below.

Now these flowers are the DeLovely chip board flowers that are so nice and thick and have a backing on them so you don't need any adhesive! How great is that.  I made this after the first card and my black marker and gel pen were right in front of me so I just had to add those black outlines and more white dots. I hope you like the effect. Love the "happy" sticker from SRM here. For the next card I refrained from any dots and it was hard to do but, I still had to outline.

I had to cut more of these yummy flowers and wanted to keep this card simple. The bottom is hand stitched with embroidery floss and I used a sentiment from my used  graduation stickers  here . You guessed it you get  a lot of mileage from these stickers.  The boarder is a PapertryInk cutting plate.

Thanks for visiting and your comments are always appreciated.
Now it's time to hop to the oh so talented Carole's blog here.

Two Post Monday with SRM stickers & Squigglefly

MY SRM CARDS AND POST HERE

Can I tell you I just love my SRM stickers and these are so much fun and great for so many applications.  I used  this and this and I had so many  choices on each sheet that it took me awhile to choose. The stamp is from Pure Innocence and the adorable sun is from Penny Black available in this awesome set here.

For this card I had the same problem  of choosing which sticker to use. So I decided to layer them for my background and it looks really good in person. I used  this set again and this. The image is from The Greeting Farm. I love how glossy accents give the sunglasses a realistic look. Don't forget to check out SRM's challenge here. I hope you have time to enter and there is an opportunity to guest design for SRM!

MY SQUIGGLEFLY CARDS AND POST HERE

The challenge this week at Squigglefly is to use newsprint on a card. I tore a page from a vintage book and put it right into my printer to print the digi image. I colored it with some Copic markers and covered the image with Ranger's Studio multi medium. What i was looking for was a canvas texture that you would see on a hot air balloon.  Here you can purchase the image.  On the paper I scored some lines and added some distress ink . Love the pattern and it's a digikit  from Jen Martakis here.

For the Squigglefly challenge go here.

Isn't this image awesome....when I saw it I couldn't wait to color it. Nina Brackett is the artist and it's available here.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful week. My son is graduating from high school today!
Hugs, Kathy

Just a quick post

IMG_0530

Hello Friends, It has been a busy and wonderful weekend and I am popping in for a quick post because I am waiting up for my son to come rolling in. Caardvarks's challenge is to make a card with any kind of embossing and I used both on this card. The image is from TGF digital gallery. I'll be back soon with a card with a Squigglefly image. How was your weekend?
Hugs,Kathy

Mom can I put my fish in the bathtub?

I have to admit that I love to create little scenes. If I had time I would have a part two with the girl and the fish in the bath tub together.

For the wallpaper I used Shari from Hero Arts color layering technique here. Tim  Holtz distress ink in three different shades worked wonderful and I used three shades of lavender markers.

To create the picture on the wall I just had to use my go to sentiments from SRM stickers. Scoring the "tile" floor gave me the realistic look I was going for. The girl is from Pure Innocence and you can see how I prepared her for the fish.  The texture is created on the fish by putting colorless blender on  a rag and dabbing on the fish after coloring.

Tomorrow or rather today is Friday and I am pretty happy about that. I can't thank you all enough for your comments and I apologise that I haven't been by. I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful blogger buddies. Happy Weekend! Kathy

P.S. The fish are from Hero Arts CL372 called Ocean of Joy

Sunglasses Girl

Sunglasses Girl

I made this card for my husband who LOVES racing cars. A nice safe hobby wouldn't you say?
I'm the woman and you are seeing the reflection of what I am looking at in the glasses. I had to explain this to my hubby so just thought I would here to just in case.
I used this image below and I will be picking one random winner to receive "Sunglasses Girl"  from Tiffany Doodles. The sentiments are from from SRM stickers available here .

I printed the image two times so I could cut out the sunglasses and the bottom of the pony tails.
The Copic colors I used are YR14 & YR15 first.
First throw down a layer of each color then add another of the YR14. (looks darker in the picture)

On top of the YR 14 keep adding another brown color on top. I think I used E25 and just kept adding layers of color. and alternating between the brown and gold color.  After cutting out the frame part of the glasses I made dashes of brown and black on the frame and once dry added brown on top of the dashes of color. (I was going for the look of designer frames) then added Glossy Accents (on the frames) and set aside to dry.
The lens part was easy (they were separate from the frames) ...I grabbed some of my SRM stickers and just added to lens.I really enjoyed coloring and layering for this card. I think I will use this image for some graduation cards.

Let me know if you have any more questions chances are I left something out? Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment so I can pick a winner. Next stop is
Kim Schofield at Paper Petals

The possibilities are endless what you can do with your digikits

Hello Friends,
Please excuse the bad photo :( For this card I used this digikit from Two Peas called Summer Fun by Laina Lamb. Even thought this is a die cut digikit I wanted to use the fun elements for a card anyway. After enlarging the image I cut out  the butterfly for a front and back then stamped on the front. Added some color with copics. I hope it's a wonderful holiday weekend remembering our service men and women. Hugs,Kathy
I promise to pick the winners tomorrow...sorry for the delay.

What I LOVE about SRM stickers.....for real :)

One of the many things that I love about SRM stickers is you have so many sentiments in different sizes and fonts on one page that it makes card designing a snap. I always find the right sticker and save a lot of time   without having to search through my stamps or print a sentiment off on my computer.  It's easy to add faux stitching and embossing to the stickers too.(right on top of the sticker)  The definition part of the stickers sheets are my favorite and can't compare to any stamp that I have seen. Can you tell that I really do love these stickers and I love being a part of this wonderful design team. This is NOT a paid advertisement...lol. Once you purchase or win some of these stickers you will see what I am taking about. Check out the projects on  SRM's blog and if you don't know this already they host challenges too

For the card I used these stickers available here. The Copic makers I used on Hero Arts bird stamps are W7, E43,E08, E71, B23 and don't forget to add some details with a white pen. Notice the beaks...Glossy Accents now has a matte finish and I love the look for certain applications.

I can't wait until the lazy days of summer and hope that some of them will be lazy. Sorry I haven't visited any blogs I have been  helping a friend and her wonderful children in Chicago. I can't believe that I haven't even picked up a marker for TWO days. I hope your week has been good. Hugs,Kathy

More Two Peas Digi Kits

I always light up when I see one of Jen Martakis's new digkits. I outlined one of her elements to make it look like a stamped image. Here is the digikit and I encourage you to check it out.

These are my two favorite loves! This black pen I use to outline some of my images and well...you know what I do with the white pen. Not only is it white but, it was a special gift. I hope you weekend was great1 Hugs, Kathy
