Just a quick share today....a window card

Just posting a card that I haven't shared yet. All the stamps are from Hero Arts.
Are you wondering of you have seen this girl before? I altered her dress... I stamped the dress several times and layered the skirt to give the dress more style and dimension. She also looks prettier with some height.

Here I played around with her side pigtails. I cut one of them off to make a bun on top of her head and then fashioned earrings out of the side buns. Have I totally confused you?
The girl on the inside of the card is the original girl with altered hair.

We just returned from vacation to New York and Philadelphia so catching up on lots of things. I hope your summer is going great. Hugs,Kathy

P.S. Don't forget to check out SRM 's sticker challenge and you can use any sticker to enter... HERE is the link.

thinking of you

This is my new favorite background and it's a single stamp but, so easy to stamp. It's from this transparent set available here and the hedgehog you will find here.

I used Ranger's tumbled glass distress ink and added white accents to some of the images on the background then I used some walnut distress ink for a final layer of ink. As you can see I popped the entire image and then cut a more of the green leaves to give the flower some added extra dimension....and yes some dots too. Have a wonderful weekend :) Hugs,Kathy

I just love these little frogs

from Penny Black. These frogs have such personality and I find myself reaching for them all the time.

I wanted to use these pretty poppies so I replaced the flower that the frog is holding with a poppy.

It's so easy to cut the flower blooms and bend the edges up a bit then place on the stamped image with some pop dots for more dimension. Added Glossy Accents to the centers of the flowers and the frogs eyes. Poppies are availble here and the frog transparent set you can purchase here.
I hope this post finds you "toadily happy" and enjoy your week. Hugs,Kathy

It's so hot here I just want to grab my intertube and head to the beach

...remember those days? I definitely chilled out  designing this card and really enjoyed all the coloring. If you aren't into coloring you can stamp on card stock and get beautiful results as well. I just have to share with you something special. Click on this link HERE and wait for the graphics...what do you see? Oh my....I am so excited :)

You can see the set I used in my last post and notice the card I made with this very hat on the girl.
I cut the hat in half to give it lots of death. Glossy Accents in matt are on the soles of the flip flops which looks really cool in person and GA are on the flowers, glasses and lemonade.
I hope you are having a good week. Hugs,Kathy

You might want to check out SRM's new clean and simple challenge here . but, first a commercial break..hee...I just have to show you a card first from my new love..PENNY BLACK.

and the close up so you can see the cutting of the hair, glossy accents on the flower and flutterfly.

In case you are wondering this little scene is on the beach at dusk with a big harvest moon in the background. I created it for Cards challenge here.
Here is the side view so you can see the dimension. This adorable hat is from this set

Available here and here is the set I used with the hedgehog. I trimmed the hat down to make it fit better on the  critter and cut off the lemonade ...that was hard to do cause I love it on the hat.
(my next post will be with this same set) there is so many way you can use all these stamps.

I stole the little guy from the flower and put the hat on him. I am going to send this to my daughter at camp. These little critter are so quick and easy to color. The Copics I used are YR0000,E30,E31,E33, and for the cheeks RV000.

I have three things to share with you

The first is Tiffany Doodles Monthly Theme Challenge. The Challenge is to create a card with "Birds and Windows" and for the prize...there will be four winners so you really can't beat it. Check out the blog for all the details and the amazing creations from the other talented DT members.
This card is my take on the challenge.

I printed the bird on white card stock and colored with several copic colors just adding layer after layer of color. I traced the image and eyes with a fine tip black sharpie and added glossy accents to beak and eyes. For the nest I cut some twill and dyed with the copic refill by dripping the color on the twill. Once dry I glued on the window sill with glossy accents. Love using GA as glue.

I wish you could see the window in person and it's dimension. I printed the window two times and cut with a blade and a straight edge into sections (window frame, 9 pieces of "glass" from the white trim.) Then I proceeded to color the wood frame, highlight the molding with grey (at this point it resembles an open grid) .For the background I stamped the clouds on white card stock and placed a piece of acetate on top then glued down the molding on top of the clouds and acetate. Add pop dots to back of the wood frame and placed on top of the window. Note... I wanted the window appear open so that excess will need to be trimmed. Once my background on the card base was stamped . Then I added more pop dots to the back of the finished window and placed on the card. Next up is the bird and I decided to cut the tail because it was to long  for my window.  For added dimension cut some extra feathers.

Other Supplies:
Copic colors B23,32B, B45 (blues) E31, E35 (browns) YR09 (oragne), W5, C2 (grey)
Stamps: HA: CG123 Flower Wallpaper, S5215 Clouds
Inks: Memento Summer Sky, Hero Hues Poppy Chalk Ink

Now for the second thing I wanted to share with you is my project with SRM stickers. What I want to do is demonstrate is three different ways you can use SRM stickers. So each card is using the SAME sticker but, in a different way. So let's get started :)

This is the quick card sheet of stickers that I used in ALL  of these cards below. Three sheets made NINE cards.
You can purchase them right here. (Quick Cards-Hello #52006)

The first way is to use the same sticker is to apply it on an acrylic tag. ( sorry about the photo) I just applied on top of the acrylic tag and added some black gems. The window was created with my nesties.

The second way you can use there stickers is right on top of a button for a different application.

The third way is to apply the sticker directly on top of your ribbon for something different.
I hope you have found some new ways to use your stickers and SRM will be featuring different ways all week so don't forget to check out SRM's BLOG  for all the talented DT's inspiration for you.

If you notice I have some left over stickers from my "Quick Card" sticker sheet so I whipped up some cards so share with you. Starting with the birds. For one tag  I applied the sticker on the back of the acrylic, one of top of the acrylic and the last one I added glossy accents on the sticker. All are backed with green scrap paper.

Three Hello's left so here ya go :)

The lined paper is from a some 4x6 note cards that were laying on my desk. The butterfly is from Hero Arts.

The third thing is.... I wanted to remind you ...tonight I will be drawing the winner for my blog candy. So there still is time of you haven't checked it out.  Details here.
In addition to the blog candy I will  also be randomly drawing three names from the comments area on the blog candy post for three additional clear sets from HA. Good Luck ! See you tomorrow

Happy fourth of July

SRM is showing some beautiful layouts and cards that will get you in the mood to celebrate the 4th of July tomorrow. Here is the link and  I found this link to explain why we celebrate this great holiday....just in case you are wondering. The festive stickers on the card are from SRM and you can find them here. (there is a sticker for every occasion, mood and sport that you can think of so plan ahead and your cards will come together faster when you have some stickers on hand.(no this isn't a paid ad :) )
This card was super speedy and the papers are from this digikit available here.  Have a safe and happy holiday. Hugs, Kathy

Penny Blacks iris is so elegant...I love it

and so enjoyable to color. I googled "a photo of an iris" and it gave me some guidance on the colors I wanted to use for this card.

You can purchase the stamp here.

Here are a few digi cards for Two Peas. This first one is from this digikit here

This frame is from this digikit. The image is from The Greeting Farm.

It's been super busy here getting the kids ready for camp. Have a great weekend! Hugs,Kathy

A plea for cards for a sweet little girls who's twin sister just lost her battle

to cancer! Jennifer McGuire is collecting cards for Grace and you can find all the details here on Jennifer's blog.

for Jennifer's card drive for Grace

I have a twin sister and I couldn't image my life without her. A long time ago when we were 11 yrs old living in Germany she got hit by a car. When the ambulance came everyone thought I was the one who got hit cause I was so hysterical. ( She just had a few bruises) I have been wanting to send more cards for Jennifer's other card drives but, for this plea I had to drop everything and I wanted to make a fun and silly card to hopefully put a smile on Grace's face. I printed several of this photo of our "Max" to make cards for the sick children. I have to admit he is pretty adorable. Off to finish some other projects. Have a great evening :)

P.S. Don't forget there is still time for my blog candy. Here are the details.
P.S.S. The bird is a Hero Arts stamp and the sentiment too.

SRM has a card sketch challenge and the

the WINNER will receive a SRM Stickers Prize package, including their new CHA Chicago releases!!!!!! How cool is that and I am here to tell you that they are AWESOME. HERE is more details and this is my take on the sketch.

Thanks a Bunch

Thanks a Bunch

All of these papers are from SEI Claire Collection. I cut the flowers from the paper and added color with Copics. For the more orange flower I added glossy accents. I hope you are able to particapte in the challenge & you can use ANY sticker on your card. See you with more cards soon.
Hugs, Kathy
