Cosmo Cricket "Togetherness" and "Mitten Weather" cards and more..

Hello Friends,
I am so happy to share this lovely...lovely paper with you. I have to be completely honest it's so easy to whip up a card if you have pretty paper and a sticker that melts into your paper. So that means the sticker must be an SRM sticker. Scroll down for my "Cards for Kids" card and you can see what I mean. If you want to have some fun and spend a little more time on a card...well then, check these out.

Here you have two completely different cards . The top one was created with a Penny Black's new stamp called Gift of Giving. (#4098K) check it out here. The second card "image" was really cheating. I cut the flower and vine from the paper. Added some white dots and gems and some layers and walla. Finished :) I am so loving the new releases from SRM Stickers . For these cards I used #51001 available here and #51009 available here.
Since the theme this month seems to be "back to school" I wanted to design a note book cover with some pizazz. I used the Cosmo Cricket paper from "Togetherness" and cut everything from small octagons from Nestabilities. I used my machine to sew the center ones and cut open octagons to finish off the page. The photos don't give this must justice so you will just have to use your imagination.
This is the front cover. The birds are cut from the CC paper and outlined in black thin sharpie. The stickers for this project are from the new release too available here. (#53003)

and the side view ...not it's not backwards...or I am. I wanted to see it from my perspecive so this worked best. Don't you love the large yummy strawberry? Take a bite out of this
Be sure to check out all the amazing projects at the SRM's BLOG. Thanks for stopping I really appreciate all of your sweet comments. This is a big week for me because we will be taking our son to college. I'll be posting a photo of our good buy dinner next week. Hug your little ones tighter because they really do grow up really fast. Have a great week!

For my cards I used the new and beautiful Cosmo Cricket "Togetherness" paper.
and nothing better than pretty paper and beautiful sticker sentiments that just melt into your paper. I used these sets here.
available here (#53002) don't you just love these new stickers in white, brown and black!

I love these Penny Black monster stamps and you can find them here. Now it's time to hope on over to Cindy's BLOG. Thanks for stopping at my blog :)
If you want to see a great way to organize your stickers.... stick around before hopping to Cindy's blog
This is how I organize all of my wonderful SRM stickers.
I had this file organizer and never utilized it very well. As you can see from the pen mark it's NOT new. I had fun making this flower from fabric scraps. My DD was sewing a BLAZER  and had some scraps on the floor. I used Tim holtz Sizzix die cut to "cut" them then put three coats of Claudine Hellmuth's studio matte multi medium paint on each flower to give it some body. The bird is from the sticker sheet above.

SRM literally has a sticker for anything you can imagine so I ended up decorating my folders with the categories so I am reminded what each folder contains.
I hope you found some inspiration and please stop back I will be giving away one of Penny Black's new releases very soon.... Happy hopping and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Have a great week. Hugs,Kathy

enjoy the little things cause

that's what life is all about. I needed to send a few cards out so I wanted to make a bunch.

well I took this photo so I could tell you how I shaded the pots but, the first step is at the bottom and the second step is second from the bottom..etc ...sorry

1. color entire pot with BOO

2. add BO2 to the right & left sides of pot ONLY

3. add B04 to the sides as above except not as much so you not covering up all of the coloring on BO2

4. color the entire pot with BOO going over all of the different shades of blue.

5. you are done... I like to add just a tad of more color just on the edge of the image of B02. Have fun and play around :)

Hedgehog #YROOOO , E33 and E21. His cheeks are RV10 (pink)

The grass is YG23 and GO5

Pot colors are BOO, B02, B04

I hope this helps

I was inspired by Jill's card here so I thought it would be fun to make a similar shape for my "quick cards" . I had to choose an image that fit accordingly. Loved this little guy.

The background is called Pointille from Penny Black. I stamped it in meadow ink from Adirondack. The little butterfly is from the same set and all the images are stamped in Tuxedo Black from Memento.
It's busy here getting my son ready for college.  I hope you all are doing well. Hugs,Kathy
Check back soon I will have some beautiful Penny Black stamps to give away soon.

New Penny Black & SRM stickers

When I made my last card for Embellish Magazine here I had some extra labels and my desk was a mess  so I just grabbed what was on hand to make this card for a friend of my daughters 15th Birthday. This little bird I colored at CHA it was perfect for the challenge.

eat cake

eat cake

This beautiful flower is one of the NEW releases from Penny Black so it won't be available until the end of the month . It's a transparent set from the new Christmas catalog but, I know that I will use this flower throughout the year.  The sentiment "eat cake" is one of SRM new releases and it's available now....did you notice now SRM has sticker sentiments in brown and WHITE (new at CHA)!

My son leaves soon for college so I am getting frazzled and overwhelmed. Sorry if I owe you an email. Thanks for all your sweet comments they really keep me going in crazy times like this. Hugs, Kathy

finally some time to get inky

and play with some of my new Penny Black stamps.I created this card for the Embellish challenge here.

I fell in love with this flourish because it happens to look like something that I doodle when taking on the phone. I used Tim Holtz's Sizzix die called "styles labels" to cut the center and stamped the flourish in Momento black ink. Any marker will work great for this but, I used my "go to" Copic markers. The letter background is from Penny Black and I stamped it on all three papers. Love the size, font and graceful look of this stamp. The bird is from a Christmas set that I think is great for everyday. How about leaving a comment and I will pick a random winner next week for a little something. Have a great Sunday. Hugs,Kathy

Tiffany Doodles Flower Power Challenge

You are free to use any flower stamps or try one of Tiffany's free flower digi stamps. Why choose digi "stamps"...well I can tell you that I LOVE the flexibility that you have manipulating the size.

Take this flower for example....I love how I can make it BIG...this measures in at 4" x 6"' total. Now that gives the image some impact and it's super easy to color and dot for that matter.

I almost forgot to mention that it's a piece of cake to cut out when the image is large.

Check out the other amazing creations by the design team at Tiffany Doodles blog and see all the details about all the digi stamps that you can win!!  I think you will be inspired. For this image on the card comes in a "box" of digi images and you can purchase them on Tiffany's blog. Here's what they look like.
Have a great weekend ...I feel like summer is almost over. Hugs,Kathy

Ah SRM them

and of course I had to use some of my new Penny Black stamps. SRM has been showing the new stickers all week and I hope you have had time to pop over to their BLOG to see many of the new stickers. I guarantee you will love them.

The brand new stickers are available NOW and you can find them here. This adorable stamp you can find here.

Love the size of the "merry" sentiment and you can find it here and the image is from PB and this particular penguin is one of three on the stamp and you should be able to find it here.

Love how there are stickers with smaller fonts that you can use as boarders such as in this card. Here is where you can find it. For the details on this sweet bear and the stamped background you can find it all in this post here. I had to wip these cards up quick for CHA and with the stickers as sentiments it really is a time saver especially if you have some colored images laying around. If you check our my post link you will see the bear featured with Mimi. I had an extra bear so it was super easy to throw this together. Thanks for all your sweet comments and I am getting better at checking out your blogs. I didn't mention it before but, I stepped down from Two Peas so I could enjoy stamping and NOT drive myself nuts with to many things. See you soon. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. If you need more details on the cards or anything please email me.

cha was so exciting to see

the "behind the scenes" when everyone was still setting up and prepping their booths. Down the isles there were gigantic wood crates about 10' x 5' everywhere. Everyone was scurrying around trying to finish the set up and the air was filled with the smell of diesel fuel. Men in uniforms were going up and down the isles with hand carts delivering boxes and the chatter of reunions was everywhere.

When my cab pulled around the corner and I saw this big sign I was pinching myself ...could it be true that I was at CHA?

I took this at the registration booth. I was nervous and excited to meet everyone for the first time.
The first day before the show opened on Tuesday there was a huge crowd waiting outside. It's hard to see them here and you can see the "band" of bagpipers playing. That was so cool and almost moving and it got you super excited!  I loved their music and wish CHA had it every morning.
I wanted to get a video of them playing but, was to nervous with everything else so maybe next time.
This was Penny Black's "booth" this is the back board  and there were tables set up to write orders and for the make-and-takes. The ladies at Penny Black were so welcoming, wonderful and warm. I felt like I was coming home.
This is the corner of SRM's booth. Here are more photos of the SRM booth on their blog today. You can even catch a glimpse of some stamping celebs like Jenyfur.  I was on could nine after meeting everyone at Penny Black and drifted over to SRM and just stayed on my cloud. Everyone at SRM was just the same...warm, wonderful and welcoming. Susan (the V.P. is so enthusiastic it's contagious) I can tell you I am one lucky and grateful girl.
If you are wondering when I did get a chance to walk around a bit ....what's on my list?
Everything Penny Black, SRM's new release and I love their new white stickers.
The new Spellbinders jumbo large dies, marvy new punching system and some of Tim Holtz's new dies. I might as well show ya the new white stickers right now. I just finished a card with a Penny Black flower stamp and SRM's new release white stickers.

I used only ONE stamp for both cards incorporating the stamp three different ways. As a background, a main image and as a colored panel. Check out the white SRM sticker and the large "smile" is new too. I hope it's ok to post these...yikes
Have a great day more tomorrow. Hugs,Kathy

New Penny Black Christmas sneak peek and a challenge for "Stamp Something"

Ta da...this  is one of Penny Black's new stamps for Christmas called Snow Kiss. Don't you just love it!!! I am so in love with all of their new releases and can't wait to share them all. This stamp  won't be available in the stores until the mid to end of August but, you will still have plenty of time to make those homemade Christmas cards.

 Snow Kiss

Snow Kiss

I hope this this helps with how I colored her hair. One of these days I will have to learn how to do a video. If you have questions please let me know.

The background was stamped & distressed in tumbled glass by Ranger.  This is the set I used on so many of my cards that you will be seeing and it's in the background on this card.
This set can be purchased now here. First I punched a 3" diameter circle out of the red cardstock  and set aside. I  punched a larger circle in white and stamped with the crystalline set and distressed in Tumbled Glass then added some white dots to the "snowflakes".  I stamped the image two times in Tuxedo Black Ink and color with desired Copic markers.

For the face I used YR000 and the cheeks RV00. Greens are YG07 and YG67. Reds are R29 & R39.
To highlight the bear I used YR000, E17 & E33. This photo above shows that I cut all the way around the girl because this way it's faster to cut out the negative space. I like to color under the images that I will be adding dimensional foam to give the card a more finished look (for example see the scarf. When finished  I added white pen accents around the circle, and the Mimi's coat, holly, berries, and the bears scarf.  When finished add Glossy Accents to the bears nose, holly and the berries. The water punch is from Fiskars.

I'll post my few photos from CHA tomorrow. Have a great night :)
