Breast Cancer Awareness Month Card Giveaway

If you have had or have breast cancer....October can be a month you are NOT fond of because it's a constant reminder for thirty one days of what you have gone through or you are going through!  Don't you wish you had a glass ball so you could see the future? Well life is a mystery so I guess I will leave it at that. Here is the card I created for SRM stickers and Breast Cancer Awareness. Click here for more cards at SRM's blog. You won't be disappointed.

All of the inked papers started out white and I added lots of distress ink, crumbled the paper, tore it, ironed it and inked it again. A little stitching and I wasn't finished until I  added the perfect SRM sticker sentiment  here.

The card measures 9 x4 so the size packs a punch. The tree symbolizes growth. The musical background symbolized harmony and balance. The messy, crumbly paper symbolizes all the stress that cancer brings. If you know of someone who you think can benefit from this card please make a comment and I will choose someone to send the card to. Thanks so much coming by and have an awesome weekend. Hugs, Kathy

Card Instructions:
Stamp music notes with worn lipstick on white paper and set aside. Line up your letters and stamp in the orchid ink. Then stamp the tree with VersaFine or Memento on white paper. Distress with worn lipstick and mahogany. Tear and crumble your paper, carefully iron your paper, and distress again. Stamp the flowers in memento, on white scrap paper,  color and cut flowers. Assemble your card.

Caardvarks and Penny Black

Hello Friends,  I am proud to say that Penny Black is sponsoring Caardvarks! Be on the lookout for prizes and Penny Black's latest challenge is here. The prize is $100.00 in Penny Black stamps!

Here is some info you will want to bookmark: Penny Black's WEBSITEBLOG, FACEBOOK, TWITTER AND FLICKR.

Doesn't this stamp make you happy?

This card design was inspired by Ashley (another Penny Black designer) and she created a card like this for the Penny Black Catalog here. I loved it so much we will be making this card for a class I am teaching on Oct 24th. You can see the stamps below listed in the supplies.

All of these snowflakes are from the stamp that I randomly stamped off the paper and the circle. I used a white gel pen to enhance the snowflakes. The broken china distress ink on the edges draws your eyes in to the image. The hedgehogs copic colors are listed below too.

I am in love with any of Penny Black's Mimi stamps and this angel is no exception.

I think it's pretty cool how most of PB's stamps can be used not only for holiday stamps but, for any occasion. This background was distressed with storm sky distress ink. I stamped and cut an extra pair of the wings to add dimension. Before you glue the wings add what ever stickles you have to them and use your finger to smudge more stickles around the angel's head too.

If you haven't already been to Caardvarks  you will want to see the amazing cards that the design team created for you at the Caardvark blog. As always I really appreciate you stopping by. Have a great day. Hugs,Kathy

Season's greetings

This is built up as much as a McDonald's big mac! I ran out of my scrap dots so I kept applying Glossy Accents to the back of the center ribbon that I cut out and wanted to layer. For the rest of the layers I used pop dots.

I couldn't stop at one card so here is an everyday card I designed with the bird set from JustRite .
This card only has one cut image so it's was super fast. I guess I would relate this to a McDonald's pancake.
