Creative Cuts and More - FOUR days left to enter!

Hello Friends, I have to tell you that this is my first experience with Creative Cuts and  I was pleasantly surprised!! Creative Cuts is sponsoring Caardvarks and I LOVE  what the DT designed for you. Here is the link to see for yourself.

I have many many collections including a Santa collection that I bring out every year. I adore this Penny Black Santa and the chipboard frame (from Creative Cuts) was a perfect way to make him shine.

To color the chipboard all I did was press it right onto my distress ink. Right on the pad. So easy!

I cut out the mustache and the hat after deciding that the specs were way to difficult to cut out. If you don't like to color this Santa is super easy and fast.

I love creating scenes with windows and usually have to create them myself so I loved having this window shaped card from CC&M.

Season's Greetings
The tree is so glittery and fantastic in person. You can see a little of the shine below.

Season's Greetings

This is how I created the background. I started with a small circle of yellow in the center only. Here is how I distressed the blues.

Check out Creative Cuts and More's  website you will be blown away by the variety that they offer. Next time I will be doing some of their adorable boxes!

The count down is on! There is only four more days until I choose the winner for my blog candy. Check it out here.
I can't believe it's Friday! Have a great weekend! Hugs,Kathy

a fall card for SRM

Hello Friends,
I hope you all had a lovely you have that wonderful crispness in the air that fall brings? Don't you just love fall? It's one of my favorite seasons.

I thought I would have time to get online to see what you all have been creating and I just didn't get one minute. Sooo sorry :( I really do love to see what you have been cooking out of the kitchen.

This was a quick card because I colored the bird this summer so all I had to do was play with my paper colors and embossing folders. I decided to dot with a white jell pen only some of the scrolls on the embossing folder.

Here is one more card and this adorable images is from Tiffany Doodles and you can find it here.
If original squirrel image is holding a nice big acorn but, I added the SRM sentiment in his hands instead.

It's been a long day so I will close for now. I hope your week is off to a great start. Hugs,Kathy

Something new for me - Tombo Markers and some trusty SRM stickers

Good Luck!
Hello Friends, Did you get a pit in your stomach or leap for joy? Yup you read it right ....NO copics IN THIS POST. I finally had a moment to sit down and try something that I have been wanting to do for months. Before we get started I have to tell you I love this paper from bazzill. I LOVE IT the texture and it's great to spray with perfect pearls. SRM is featuring some great card designs with this versatile paper. I hope you can check it out.

Good Luck!

You can see the sheen on the flowers and on the bottom of the paper. I sprayed the blue card base, flowers and leaves with the perfect pearls. They have the prettiest sparkle and I love how the paper stood up to the heat gun. These flowers were cut after I stamped the flowers and colored them. Below I share how I did it.

Best Wishes
Here is another card I made with the exact same stamp, perfect pearls and Tomo markers. I am still getting used to these markers but, I was thrilled that I was able to get a nice water colored effect. The  photo below allows you to see the yummy perfect pearls.

Best Wishes

To begin you want to start with water color paper and stamp on the smoother side of the paper. I inked my stamp with VersaFine then embossed with superfine clear embossing powder. (all supplies listed below)

I am experimenting with these markers and picked up some rather dark colors to play with. I was determined to make them work. The colors weren't blending well so I soaked it with perfect pearls.

The colors were still not I soaked and literally drenched the paper some more. I took a brush to move some of the colors on the edges into the center and waited for it to dry. I look forward to learning more and will be happy to share any tips with you.

For the first card I did the same technique but, with the blue markers and lavender.

I have to give you all a big thanks for leaving such sweet warm comments all week! You won't see another post until Monday and I hope to visit your blogs this weekend. In the mean time have a great weekend. Hugs, Kathy
