For the next three days

I will be sharing the cards that I made for the Penny Black Christmas catalog.

I am in love with these images and it was a so fun to design these cards. I love to use an embossing folder to create the background. This particular one is my favorite because you can stamp in the center as I did here.

For the snowy panel I used tumbled glass distress ink then stamped the snowflakes and added white dots. Use a piece of scrap for the snow bank. I like to add a line of blue to make the snow stand out.
The images were stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copic makers.

Here is card number two. I love the simplicity of this owl stamp. The background was created the same way as the first card.

I really love subtle stamping in backgrounds.

Embossing adds so much to cards. If you don't have a Cuttlebug it's something to consider for your holiday list. What is on your list? I would love to hear.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I have been so excited to share these cards with you that I made this summer!! Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

When life gets you down....

Hello Friends, Welcome to a full week of blog posts. Today we start off at Penny Black's blog. You will find lots of inspiring cards. The theme is "Inside & Out" and I think you will look at the inside of your card a little differently perhaps.

Here is the FRONT of my card.

The idea is when life knocks you down you have to try and get back up as you see  INSIDE the card.
I typed the sentiment on the computer and punched out a caption bubble with a punch.

My daughter thinks I did this backwards. I hope you don't ....
The pine tree was inked with pine needles and crushed olive distress ink then sprayed with perfect pearls mist. For the sky I used stormy sky distress ink.

When life gets you down....
This is how I cut up the hedgehog so I could cross create his fall. (Sorry for the bad photo.)
This was a pretty simple card to make. Just stamp your image two times and another on  a white panel for the inside. Cut all of your papers, distress your backgrounds, and find some markers. Add some stitching if you want.

Use some scrap paper to cut your snow banks, dry emboss them, cut out your images. Lay out your pieces and pop dot the front. That's it in  a nut shell. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'll be back tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

Supplies: ( just a quick click)
The letters "I am" on the inside are from Cosmo Cricket.

You are in my thoughts.............

Hello Friends, Just a super quick post today. So little time and so much to do. IMG_1974

I used my new favorite black Copic marker that allows me to add eyelashes with ease. I also added creases to the smile. What do you think?

I heard that an eight year old is going through some ugly chemo so I had to make her a happy card. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Don't forget to comment at SRM I love the many products they are giving away!! Next week will be full of posts and I can't wait to share. Happy stamping! Hugs,Kathy
