A little bird told me ...

Hello Friends, Before I get started I have a winner to announce for the stamp "A Thorney Affair". Congrats to Joey!!

If you are curious what in the world am I talking about here is the post.

I just love this sweet stamp. You might remember that a few weeks ago I created some mini cards with this stamp but, I choose to use only parts of the image instead creating some oval trees. Click here to see the mini cards. The versatility of this stamp is one of the things I love besides the fact that it's easy to "color". All you have to do is basically outline the image with markers, add some pearls and a little distressing. I scored the pink background paper and some stitching adds that little extra.

What projects do you have that you want to accomplish in your craft room this year? I dream of creating  another color chart like I did here  but, with paper instead. Let's see if this challenge is to big for me or if I can really finish a task like this. I would love to hear your goals. Have a great day!
P.S. Don't go far I will be having more giveaways in addition to my big one here.

Cards for Black Leaf Studios

Hello Friends,
I have some digikits for you today from Black Leaf Studios.
Awhile back I was asked by a sweet lady if I could guest design for Black Leaf Studios. She was so patient and kind to wait for me to finish some of my commitments.  I have to tell you that I really enjoyed working with these fun, colorful, affordable and whimsical designs.

I just love looking at this sweet chef and you might notice some of my additional touches on her. You can see the digikit here and purchase it too.

Lanterns and lamps really "light" me up. In my home you will find several lamps in ONE room so I gravitate to stamps or digi with any lighting.

On this lantern there were some black dots so I decided to punch them out for more dimension and wrapped thread around it to replicate some iron detail that you usually see on lanterns. You can find the lantern here.

Happy Birthday
A friend turned 45 years ago and I decorated the table with lots of clocks and quotes about time all around the table. I used vintage watches as napkin rings and I have to admit that it looked fantastic.  This digi clock would have made the perfect invitation. Check out this digi clock here.

Happy Birthday

Well that's it for time is Please remember that  I always am grateful for your
continued support that you show me on my blog. In case you missed it scroll down for my newest
BLOG CANDY. Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

One stamp four ways

Hello Friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that  your "Life is Good!"

This is one of four cards that I created with this particular stamp. Today I am sharing two of them & later this week I will share two more. All of the sentiments are from SRM stickers.

For this card I stamped the image in Barn Door then distressed the background. Here is a great explanation of how I layer my distress inks for some depth. To finish this card off I used some Walnut  Stain distress ink on the edges. The letter background is stamped with Aged Mahogany.

love - laugh - live

This card was fun to ink up with several distress ink and splatter with water. I placed a panel of vellum behind the center panel and the sentiment.

Please email me if you have any questions. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Kathy
P.S. Did you know that SRM has brown, white and black lettering in their sticker sentiments?
P.S.S. I will be back tomorrow with a some BIG BLOG CANDY.

Tombo Watercolor Markers/Digi Kit/Copic Markers

Hello Friends, How are you today? Have you ever flown a kite? I don't know why I wanted to turn this adorable flying hedgie into an kite with a string? Maybe because I want to give away the guy on the bike called "A Thorney Affair"?

I love Kites
This little guy is a "Christmas" stamp but, he's so incredibly versatile!
LEAVE A COMMENT and I will choose a winner for "a thorney affair" stamp next week.

I love Kites

Both of these stamps just scream happy to me. I used Tombo watercolor markers on the "Hedgehopper" and the bows on the string . For the bows I drew figure eights with a marker on white paper, colored them and cut them out. The critter on the bike I used Copic markers. The lovely papers are from Jen Martakis's digikit here.

I love Kites

Embroidery floss works wonderful as my kite string. I jazzed up the hopper plane on the tail with a lightening blot.

I love Kites

Do you recognize this bike from Penny Black. Look in the supply list below to see if you can spot it.
Other cards I designed with "A Thorney Affair" you can see here and  here .
Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Kathy
