mimi cooks and she drives

Hello Friends, Today I have a quick share for you. These are two cards that were in the spring Penny Black catalog.

I adore this stamp. Don't you love a blank canvas like this chef's hat. I used my favorite paisley background stamp on it to give it a fun spin.

B.D. dreams
I used a combo of Copic markers and Tombow. I like the warn look on the VW. For the sentiment bubble I traced a sticky note to get the fun shape. I added Glossy Accents to the head lights and the hub caps.

Many of you are asking me where you can purchase these stamps. If you click on the thumbnails they will take you directly to a store with wonderful customer service.
Have a great week! Hugs, Kathy

Hedgehopper Sympathy Card

Hello Again! I hope you are having a great weekend with some time to stamp or craft. I wanted to make a special card for a teenage boy who had a cousin die tragically. I am hoping that this hedgehopper might bring a grin for a second.

I wanted a dark sky where the angels are making cookies (that's what my mom says when the clouds are orange).

I added a lightening blot to make the plane more like a fighter plane.
I needed some tree tops to prove that he is actually flying. This tree stamp was perfect.

I used my NEW FAVORITE CLOUD PUNCH. I can't believe that this wasn't invented sooner. See the links below so you know where I purchased mine. The sentiment is from SRM Stickers and you can find that here.

This is the first time I was able to use my Copic compressor to airbrush the background. I thought it wasn't working but, I just panicked! Finally I have the machine tamed! LOVE IT :)

That's it for now. Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

Penny Spinner Card with "About Town" stamp

Hello friends, If you are a Penny Club member you have already seen this penny slider card in the PB newsletter. This is the card that I created for my "make-an-take" at CHA in January.
Hello Friend
I thought this image was perfect for a spinner card hence a penny spinner card.
Hello Friend
If you have never made a spinner card I will guide you and I hope you will be surprised how easy it is.

Before we get started I colored the image with Copic markers and added some highlights with Tombo watercolor makers. Add Glossy Accents to your windshield & the headlights.

Cut a strip of paper 51/2 x 21/2

Cut the corners and punch two holes at least one inch from the bottom. Add some faux stitching.
Cut a line with a craft knife from one side to the other.
Add a scrap strip of paper so when you place attach your hill you don't see the blue paper behind the slit that you cut. Tape down your sun. I used spellbinders inverted circle.

Put a piece of foam on the back of a penny making sure that it fits and slides in your slot. Then place the other penny one top to make a "sandwich".

Insert carefully into the slot. I used button for the wheels so the image stands alone.

Add dimensional foam to the back of your hill and stick on your card base. Put anther piece on the penny then place the image on top.Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Kathy
