Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge

Hello Friends, If you are visiting for the first time...welcome to my blog. Today I am honored to be a guest designer at the Wee Memories Challenge Blog. Jenny is so talented and so creative that I jumped at the opportunity. Lawnscaping Challenge Blog is teaming up with Wee Memories this week and BOTH challenge blogs are being sponsored by Lawn Fawn. (can I say...Kelly is just adorable!!)

This is one of the two cards I created.
Say Cheese

I don't have any of Lawn Fawn's critters so I used some of my favorite sets to make some "cute" scenes. For the first card I created the fish bowls with these Lunar Light stamps and the cuddly fish are from this set. The shell "wallpaper" was make with Worn Lipstick distress ink and the shell stamp from the same set. The awesome Polaroid stamp is from this set. (I always loved taking Polaroid photos)
Just wavin' hello
The idea behind this wanted the dolphin to be jumping out of his "pool" to grab one of the fish from the decorations. I cut a circle from my Spellbinders and drew some triangles on it for the pool. The clouds were airbrushed with Copic markers with this punch. For the smaller cloud you can trim the larger one down to a small size. Love these yummy papers from Penny Black.

Just wavin' hello

Keep in mind you have until Sunday night to submit your sparkly card for Penny Black's weekly challenge. You can find the details here.  I hope you have lots of sunshine in your weekend and a big thanks to Jenny for letting me play along with Wee Memories Challenge Blog today. Hugs,Kathy

P.S. I thought it would be fun to share two other cards I made with this same set last year?

Hello Friends,
A super quick post to announce the winners from last week. Here is the post if you are wondering what I am talking about. I would like to say a big congrats to the ladies below. :)

Monday: Cathy P in AZ
Tuesday: Kelly Latevola
Wednesday: Ruza Rebel
Thursday: Pegg
Friday: Melody B. Please email me at with "glitter" in the subject line.

I am still waiting to hear from Sask & Janet W. from this post.

These were two simple cards that I made for the Penny Black catalog. I added embossed vellum on top of the butterflies. Here are some tips on that. All of these yummy papers are from the "Mix & Match" papers from Penny Black.
Hello Friend
This one I really wanted to show the background stamp and had this blank spot on the card. I spied this antique pin on my bulletin board & it was just the thing I was looking for. If you are curious here is a photo of my super jumbo bulletin board.
Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy AND thanks for stopping :)

Where does the time go ?

Hello Friends, How are you? How is your week going???
I can't believe that it's the middle of another week and time for another Simon Says Challenge. This week the challenge to design a Birthday card & you can get more of the details here plus see what the DT has created to inspire you. As you may know each week a random winner is selected to receive a $50.00 gift certificate. :)
Happy Birthday
I was lucky lucky to score this NEW Spellbinder called " Floral Doily Motifs " This is something I recommend to put on your wish list and you will be able to purchase it here any day once the new release arrives. I use Spellbinder "nestablilties" so often that I can't live without them.

Happy Birthday
This  Valentine stamp called "Owl Be Yours" is perfect for a wedding card, birthday card or an everyday card. I inked up the parts of the stamp with the corner of my ink pad on some white card stock that was cut from the doily die cut. Stamp another owl, heart and leaves to cut out. Color your cutouts with some browns and blues listed below in the thumbnails *they will take you directly to the store*
Distress your cutout doily with Worn Lipstick distress ink & stamp with this paisley outline stamp. You will find it easier if you have a craft mat and a distressing tool. (Have you ever seen my distressing background tutorial? If not here it is)

Add some wood-grain lines with a black marker to your branch and color. Add lots of dots with this gel never fails me. For the eyes I added a layer of white enamel and once the eyes dry add another layer of black enamel. The enamel really makes the eye POP in person. Add some gems and my NEW favorite ribbon and you are finished.

I almost forgot one more detail that I added to my card. I backed the distress doily with some white paper and added some paper piercing. Normally I would skip this step but, recently I purchased the right tools so it's so easy to add these extra touches. I used this mat and this safe, handy tool by ranger.
As always I am incredibly grateful for you stopping by my blog. Many Thanks, Kathy

P.S. Scroll down to see Penny Black's new weekly challenge for this week. Did I say glitter??
