2011 Spring Catalog

Hello Friends, Today I thought that I would share a quick close up of the Penny Black catalog in case have only seen this on line. This is the cover that I created for Penny Black's last catalog. Pretty exciting for me!!

It really looks different without the title etc. I loaded the cover up with lots of different stamps. (I'll link them at the bottom of this post.)

Do you recognize the "City Scape" stamp? I blew it up super big and then stamped all over it. This cover card measures 8.5 x 11.

If you know of any brides this spring or summer some of these stamps makes the perfect wedding themed card.
Are you one of those shoe people?? Can you tell what brand of designer shoes on the right I colored?
Isn't this pooch the sweetest little thing??

In this photo you really can see the background stamps on the building and grass.

If you draw fine lines with a micro marker (listed in supplies) you can really add some design and texture to your images as I did on the blazer.  The wedding dress is two layers of vellum. I used this technique.

I hope your week is off to a good start and thank you for stopping by. Hugs,Kathy

TWO cards for Lily Pad's GRAND Opening

Hello Friends, Today is April 1 which means many things. It's "Lily Pad's" GRAND OPENING ( & last blog hop), MY STEP MOMS BIRTHDAY (happy B.D. Rachel... I love you! ) and it's APRIL FOOLS DAY!!

I have two cards today to welcome you to "Lily Pad" and invite you to discover many exciting things that Lily Pad will be bringing to your desk top. I hope you have had time to check them out and I must ask you this.... Did you check out the prize packages? Time is running out here for the details. If you are a Penny Black fan you will find lots of Penny Black stamps in Lily's Pad's prize packages. Also ......each day on the Penny Black blog you will find prizes all week here.

Do you remember the welcome wagon? I just loved this hedgehog with the cart. Here is an Easter card I made with this same hedgehog. The idea was to create a little flower shop of sorts to fill the cart with flowers.
I  cut off the egg from this stamp and add some flowers from this set.The flowers in the wagon are from the planter on the right of the card. I stamped the bowl twice and used the second one to elevate the base for more height.

I LOVE this new grass stamp from Penny Black. See the pattern on the awning? I used this grass stamp for some geometric lines on my awning then colored it with markers. Almost any stamp can be use for a background. (Sounds like a good challenge eh?) The awning was created with the NEW Spellbinder "Banners Basic 1" A friend of mine, Nina,  designed these banners and I am in love with the possibilities of them! It won't be long and Simon Says Stamp will have them in their store here.

Now for my second card. If you don't know...Inlinkz is how I link all of my products at the bottom of each post. If you click on the thumbnails you will be taken directly to a store where you can purchase it or check out more details on the products that I have used in each post.

Lily Pad
Notice the friendly happy frog that's Inlinkz's mascot of sorts. I gave him some open eye balls with my new favorite enamel from Ranger. First I used a blob of white and waited for it to dry and then added a black blob on top of the white. It look so cool in person. For the background I punched some clouds  (see supply list below) and airbrused over the punched clouds. Then I removed the clouds ( cause they became blue and I wanted them to be white.  I will have some blue clouds for another project in the future. (Distress ink will accomplish a similar look.) I also used the grass stamp from Penny Black again in this card.

Lily Pad

I am so proud of Vicky and Deborah and what they have created with Lily Pad. I admire you both so much and I look forward to each post. Have a great weekend everyone. Any sneaky plans to fool someone?? I would love to hear what you might have up your sleve. Have a happy weekend!
Hugs, Kathy

Yup you guessed it...Wednesday again

Hello Friends,  Every Wednesday I marvel at the week & how another one is flying by so fast. Are you tired of hearing it?  Well to prove it I may have missed this card for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog. Good thing I had these adorable girls already colored so I could almost literally throw them onto a card. Penny Black is sponsoring the challenge this week & I would be upset if I missed it . Click here for all of the details and prizes!
I really love the versatility of this tiny dotted paper from Basic Grey and I am in love with this BFF stamp from Penny Black.

Speaking of versatile this Polaroid stamp from Lawn Fawn is so much fun to use with any stamps that you love. I added dots with a glitter pen on the flowers and the trim on the wings. The dry embossing on the base of my card is one of my favorite embossing folders here.
I have a big deadline and once I am finished I promise to post the winners from last week. I hope you are ok with that. In the meantime hop over to the Penny Black blog there are giveaways ALL WEEK.
Enjoy a new day. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. Thanks so much for jumping right into the Lily Pad hop on Monday. I should have sent you to the Lily Pad blog first if you weren't coming from Nina's blog. Sorry. Click here to see more hops all week and mega prizes.
