10/11/11's a sticker !

Hello Friends, It's me again and it's a busy week. I will be back tomorrow with some fun stamping info and a Copic tutorial. What about you?? Is your week off to a good start??

The tiniest things....
It's another week and a new fun feature on the Penny Black Blog. Have you ever noticed their colorful and beautiful stickers??  Jill Foster has created some stickers for Penny Black and they are gorgeous and you will find them on the PB blog in her video yesterday here!!
After I die cut my Spellbinders "Lace Doily Accents" and my "Ribbon Tag Trio" from white card stock I embossed the Doily with clear powder and Penny Black's paisley background stamp. Distress with two colors. ( see supply list)
I placed two flower stickers on some card stock, cut them out & layered them with Scrap Dots. Isn't it amazing how real the flower looks?? Here is another card I created with a PB sticker and I have to add I think the stickers are a great value and you can make some quick cards super fast that will be beautiful. See you tomorrow I hope. Hugs, Kathy

DAY THREE with vellum accents

Hello Friends, How are you this Sunday?? Today I am sharing the project that I created for the "Master Class" in the Papercraft Inspirations magazine ... a feature on vellum.

If you want to leave a comment I will select a winner for this bag of yummy vellum flowers the weekend of the 16th so please check back.
When I first laid my eyes on these Spellbinder flowers I knew I had to have them and I so enjoyed creating all of these layered flowers. The vellum between some of the layers really make the flowers stand out. I also distressed almost every petal and that really made the papers more rich looking and it was easy to do with a worth the effort. :)

Basically you die cut, distress with a dauber and layer with Scrap Dots. Easy and great to do while you are watching TV. For the packaging below I stamped "Happy Holidays" on red paper, scored some lines onto the vellum and assembled the layers. Have you see my other vellum posts?? DAY ONE and DAY TWO?  All the Spellbinders, Penny Black, Basic Grey, buttons, scrap dots,  etc. that I used for my Paper Crafts Inspiration feature is in my blog candy package here.

Have a great week and thanks for your visit I am always grateful! Hugs, Kathy

SUPPLIES for this project:

have you tried a color challenge

Hello Friends, Have you ever tried a color challenge?? What I love about them is you get a jump start on your card. As you might know each month Lily Pad blog hosts a color challenge & today is the beginning of a new challenge.
I hope you will check out the Lily Pad blog to see the different interpretations of the color palette and what you can do with Tiffany Doodles whimsical and beautiful images. I think you will be inspired :)

One of the things I like most about using digi prints is that you can print them in any size. The beautiful branch is from Tiffany Doodles, the sentiment is from SRM stickers and the frame I created is from Spellbinders.

I fell in love with a few new products this past weekend. Jennifer told me about some white ink from ColorBox that I used on the background. I had tried so many that I was unhappy with but, finally in love with a new white ink!! LOVE IT!!

I also fell in LOVE with the new Ranger distress inks that you see is the background color and the brown accents on the frame (over kraft paper). Penny Black's ZEN background is perfect for a subtle look. Add some white dots for fun.

One thing I did different with my SRM sticker was stick it onto some acetate before glueing it down with some Glossy Accents. I wanted to float the sentiment but, I added it last so it didn't I am not a planner. Loved the look of it on acetate though.

Recently I was really moved by this post from Mo's Digital Pencil. I think it appropriate because all of the digital artists struggle with people copying and or sharing their images for free or maybe innocently passing an image along?? I know you all are a compassionate bunch & I thought you might like to read Mo's struggle with this issue and how it can effect the stamping industry.

These pumpkins are from Mo's Digital Pencil and I have been wanting to make place cards with these for Thanksgiving. I colored them on the airplane and the stewardess asked if I was coloring them for her. I knew she was kidding so I just was so puzzled..didn't know how to answer.

I still might add a little brown distress ink on the edges and some orange stickels. I love working with independent artist's digital images from Tiffany Doodles, Mo's Digital Pencil and A Day for Daisies.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Kathy
