Hello Friends, Happy Monday to you :) I have some breaking news! Penny Black has a new designer in the house so I hope you will stop by the Penny Black blog today to welcome her.
simply stamped
I think it would be fun for you to  click over to see "who" she is & her beautiful simply stamped cards. To celebrate I have a simple stamped card for you.    ( sorry for the darker photo it's so hard to photograph white on white)

This might have been the fastest card I have ever made. I already had the Spellbinder dies cut from my "Removable Ornament Card" you might have seen?  I dry embossed the ornament with this and used this glue pen to trace over the raised edges then sprinkled glitter on top. To be honest ... if you don't have a glue pen don't try it. I work in a small areas at a time but, you will be surprised how quick it can be.
I used the new Marvy Le Plume alcohol markers that work just as good as Copic Markers. The colors I used are below but, the photos of the colors don't look the same on my computer as the actual marker does. I hope you will give them a try for $2.99 you can't beat it and I love the brush tip. If you are wondering what that blob on the left of this's a Scrap Dot and it shows only at this angle.
I hope your week will be off to a good start. Thanks for coming by. Hugs, Kathy

Easy Place Cards for Thanksgiving or .....

Place Cards
Hello Friends, How are you this weekend?? Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? I have been wanting to find a chunk of time to create some place cards for the Thanksgiving table & I finally found that time. Of course you can switch up the colors and use this design for any occasion :)
Place Cards
I have to show you how they look with some mood lighting so you can see the pretty sparkle.
Place Cards Prototype
This was the first one I proto type and I wasn't happy because it was a little to much stamping, to much ribbon etc... etc.
This is the simplified version. What do you think?? I like the way the off center ribbon label looks.
Just in case you are interested I have a tutorial for you & the supply list is at the bottom of my post.
Type your names and run your colored paper through your printer allowing space to die cut each name. If I measured I could have print all the names on one sheet of paper.
Die cut your names placing the label slightly off center on the die. Tape the die cut down with something like architectural dots. (I like them because I can use them over and over.)
Thread your ribbon while it's still on the spool and it will be easier to steady it while you gather the ribbon. Tie the ribbon with the embroidery floss into a bow.
I find it easier to work in batches. I will be trimming the left end of the "Ribbon Label". Here is a card using the ribbon label.
Using "Label's Eight" die cut your card base and score it to fold  in half.
Die cut the next size that's smaller, stamp and distress. (see supply list for stamps, inks etc.)
Cut in half.
Attach your distressed piece....I like to use Glossy Accents as my glue.
Place Cards
Spray everything with shimmer spray.
If  you celebrate Thanksgiving good luck as you make your preparations and  have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for taking the time to visit. Hugs, Kathy
Did you see my giveaway on my last post here.

Finally ... two winners & another giveaway

New Giveaway
Hello Friends, Please accept my apologies for my delay in announcing the winners. In case you are NOT the winner of my big blog candy I wanted to give you anther shot at something that I use all the time. This Copic Shadows & Shading book....It really is wonderful and comes with some light guides that are so handy. The Opaque White is something to have as well in your arsenal of white products that I surround myself with.
All you need to do to win the above three things is leave a comment on this post & I will select a random winner by the end of next week.
Winners Announced
When I colored this Penny Black flower a months ago I was mindful of the lighting principles of the Copic instruction book. I lost the little piece of paper with the list of colors that I used....sorry :(
I love creating shadow box frames with Spellbinder dies. They really are so quick and so dramatic. To create the sentiment "tag" I cut off part of this Spellbinder Trio, distressed it and added a sentiment from from SRM stickers
A super big congrats goes to  Debbie Morgan. Debbie was selected randomly by InLinkz and she won a huge prize package. All the details are in this post.

Help me congratulate the winner of  these Spellbinders flowers. Linda's number was pulled from my vintage bingo spinner.  I can't believe it's of my students!! How exciting!
Thanks for your visit today and I will be back with more soon. Have a happy day. Hugs, Kathy
