| Hello Friends, I hope you had a lovely day yesterday & that your hearts were full of love. This week Penny Black is showcasing the newly released 2012 stamps on the PB blog. As you look at both of these cards side by side you may notice all of the foliage & small flowers are missing on the simpler card on the left?? It was so easy to color, cut them out and cover them up for a speedy card. TodayI will also share with you a tip on "feathering" with your brush tip markers. |

| This stamp called "Spring Beauty" is so lovely and fun to color. If coloring isn't your thing then my other card might just suit you. Tulips are my flower of choice for a simple easy arrangement on a table. I always marvel at all of the varieties of tulips available at your local nursery. Have you heard of "Candy Cane" tulips?? well...as you have guessed by now that was my inspiration when I was coloring these tulips. The white edging is an "Edgeabilities" from Spellbinders. In the supply list is the distress inks I used for the background. |

| Both backgrounds were stamped with this ink called "Cantaloupe" perfect for PB mix and match papers. The dew drop inks are big space savers. |

| I made some notes to share with you but, didn't mean to photograph them :) Have you noticed that you can over blend when coloring with reds...and it happens to dark blues as well. This was confirmed in the Copic certification class but, I don't remember the explanation...It has to do with the dies in the ink. Anyway... keep this in mind when coloring with red. To begin I drew a line down the middle on each petal. Start at the bottom of the petal and feather your tip with a LIGHT hand leaving space between each stroke. As you make each stroke feather your tip. The pressure of how you place the tip of the marker on the paper .... I like to call it sweeping. ( When you sweep with a broom you push down your broom and as you being to sweep you lift the broom up.) This is the motion that works best with your marker. The effect you get when you sweep your marker is referred to by Copic as "Feathering" but, the motion is what give you the feathering look and makes it easier for your colors to blend together. Flowers aren't perfect so don't judge yourself....It all comes together in the end. |

| This is a good shot of how I cut out the tulips leaves only. When you color them with dark greens you barely can make out the lines of the smaller flowers and leaves. Honestly you don't notice them at all when it's layered on your card. |

| Bring in a little bit of yellow carefully on the opposite side of the petals so you don't mix with the red. |
