Tweaking patterned paper/ book mark card

Hello Friends, Are you enjoying the Olympics??  Me...I can't get enough!
This is my second card with Simon Say's Stamps August Card Kit and if you asked me who offers the best card kits for the best value .... I would give the gold to Simon Says Stamp!
This was my first card (note the giveaway too)
August Card Kit
I love paper and this paper pad from "My Mind's Eye" is  so pretty with all of the color combos.  I decided to make a card with a book mark (from the tag in the card kit) and insert it behind some of the  paper that I cut out. More below on that.
This is what it looks like without the book mark. I used the stamps from the kit to decorate the "tag" For the side tags on each piece I die cut labels one from Spellbinders.
I began by cutting around the edges leaving a slight boarder. This will go front and center on my card.
Take a fine tip marker of your choice and trace around the stand out flowers and leaves.
(my choice is a fine tip Sharpie marker because it doesn't bleed into the paper).
Now take this white gel pen and have some fun. On most of the flowers & the leaves I added dots or stitching. On the flowers center I used this and once it's dry ... add Glossy Accents on TOP of the white enamel accents.
Carefully glue your flowers on the edges only so that you have room to slip your book mark behind the flowers and you have a fun book mark card. Please email me if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend and best of luck in the games. Hugs, Kathy

Happy Day

Happy Day
Hello Friends, Super quick post today especially since all of the verbiage I just posted was deleted!! I  am not so patient when that happens :( Any how.... how are you?? Any fun plans for your weekend?
I love using these word die cuts from Simon Says Stamp. Here is another way you can emboss the words in your background.
Are you excited for the Olympics?? I will be glued to the TV for the three weeks... LOVE the Olympics. Here is a card to celebrate the Olympics I posted a while ago. Did you happen to check the Simon Says August card kit GIVEAWAY?? Click here for that if you missed it. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Kathy

Giveaway time :)

Hello Friends, How are you?? How's your summer been?? It's that time of the month again when I am giving away the newest Simon Says Card Kit for August!! It's packed with goodies and the value is awesome! Click here to check it out. If you subscribe to the kits and I draw your name you will be credited for the Aug. card kit. All you need to do is leave a comment and I will draw a winner next Monday. A big shout out to Heidi .... Thank YOU for letting me give a kit away :)

This particular card was quick and simple. I also make a book mark card that I will share later in the week. This is what the bike looks like before I colored it with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents to the tires. There were so many fun things to incorporate into my card from this card kit that my head was spinning.....speaking of spinning .....I knew I had to use this bike.

Scrap dots allowed me to "pop" the bike...I couldn't just glue it down on my card. You can see a blob of it under the flowers. You must see this tin of bright and beautiful flowers that are in the kit and I used a few small ones to fill my bikes basket.

I want to thank you all for your patience and apologize for my delay in posting. I am ever so grateful that you continue to pop in and see what I have been up to. I have been coloring and can't wait to share those images once the cards come together. Have a great week and thanks again, Kathy

P.S. I am sorry that I had to turn on the "comment verification" :( I am getting pounded with about 500 spam a day.

Just a quick hello
Hello Friends! How have you been?? I hope you have had some time to relax and to get crafty this summer. I needed to make a quick card so I paper pieced this adorable image from "My Favorite Things" The sentiments are from SRM stickers.
I added stickles to her wand, wings and shoes.
Welcome Little One
I used several light markers to create a quick sky and some shading.  The color blocked background on the card base I sewed awhile ago and was happy to find a image that looked nice with it.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by I really appreciate it :) The end of next week I will be giving away Simon Say's Stamps newest card kit. Have a great weekend! Kathy
