Copic Markers

Copic Giveaway

Hello Friends, How are you today?? I am so excited to bring you a GIVEAWAY today! Slowly I have been replacing my "Ciao" markers with the "Sketch" markers . I decided the best thing to do is to give away my CIAO markers...TWO BUNDLES of markers for my blog readers! I am always so grateful for your support :) If you want to enter the Copic marker giveaway the details will be at the bottom of the post.

Mini Copic Coloring Chart
I always pack some markers with me when I travel and usually just just grab random colors. This color chart is an example how you can pair different color combinations. You don't need to pair numbers up...for example B02 and B04 or B06 when coloring and blending. If you are anxious to try this I suggest starting with a small image because it's easier to blend.  I love the whimsey of this stamp from Lawn Fawn and thought it was perfect for my color chart. Here and here are a few other color charts I have done in the past. I plan on bringing to you more videos once I move... we still are here and should be in our new house end of Sept.

To avoid duplicating colors when shopping for markers I like to use this "Copic" booklet to keep me organized (the book comes in black and white) .I have some friends that refer to their book to select colors before coloring their images. (yes...I do too sometimes)

and now for the giveaway details:
If you would like a chance to win this giveaway here is what you need to do to qualify:
1.  ADD the photo at the top of the post to your blog sidebar linking it back to my blog....right here.  (All you have to do is right click to copy the photo.) (If you dont' have a blog you can add it to Flickr or Facebook.)

Hello Friends, I have a quick share today... a card I created for the Penny Black blog.  You may have noticed that I love this flower stamp from PB called "Petal Party" The shapes of the petals are so pretty and have a geometric look to them that I like. Here is another card that I recently made with the stame transparent set of stamps.

My images were colored with Copic markers. ( I used YG21, YG41, BG96, YE21, B06)
Stayed tuned because soon I will be sharing some unusual color combos when coloring with Copics or alcohol markers.
The paper are scraps from my August card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I will be giving away a new card kit EACH month so you may want to
subscribe for my blog updates so you don't miss out. Click here for that.
The sentiment is from this sticker sheet....gasp a sticker... yes!  I love them ! ...and I love how they are available in white too.

Have you seen my UTube video's demonstrating how I color? I used the same technique on the flower as I did in this video. Once I move I  plan on doing more videos on a regular basis & if you would like to subscribe click here and click on "Subscribe" on top of the video). After you adhere your flower to your card don't forget to put a heavy coat of glossy accents in the center. I love using these small bottles.

Congrats to Raven
for winning this August Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp (see my post here). Thanks Simon Says for treating my blog readers to this yummy giveaway.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thank YOU for taking the time to stop by. Hugs, Kathy

Tweaking patterned paper/ book mark card

Hello Friends, Are you enjoying the Olympics??  Me...I can't get enough!
This is my second card with Simon Say's Stamps August Card Kit and if you asked me who offers the best card kits for the best value .... I would give the gold to Simon Says Stamp!
This was my first card (note the giveaway too)
August Card Kit
I love paper and this paper pad from "My Mind's Eye" is  so pretty with all of the color combos.  I decided to make a card with a book mark (from the tag in the card kit) and insert it behind some of the  paper that I cut out. More below on that.
IMG_7653
This is what it looks like without the book mark. I used the stamps from the kit to decorate the "tag" For the side tags on each piece I die cut labels one from Spellbinders.
IMG_7650
I began by cutting around the edges leaving a slight boarder. This will go front and center on my card.
IMG_7651
Take a fine tip marker of your choice and trace around the stand out flowers and leaves.
(my choice is a fine tip Sharpie marker because it doesn't bleed into the paper).
IMG_7657
Now take this white gel pen and have some fun. On most of the flowers & the leaves I added dots or stitching. On the flowers center I used this and once it's dry ... add Glossy Accents on TOP of the white enamel accents.
Carefully glue your flowers on the edges only so that you have room to slip your book mark behind the flowers and you have a fun book mark card. Please email me if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend and best of luck in the games. Hugs, Kathy
