washi and die cutting

Using washi tape
Hello Friends, How have you been? Can you believe that it's August already...crazy!! This past week was filled with great memories & fun times because one of my closest friends was here to visit. I hope your summer has been filled with wonderful memories too :)

I had so much fun making these washi clouds with this die cut from "My Favorite Things" and these happy clouds have been on my desk for weeks! Have you die cut some washi yet?? All you have to do is apply the washi tape to some card stock alternating different tapes and then die cut them. Super easy! I used this Penny Black stamp to jazz up my happy scene and Mimi's eyes really stand out because I used this on them. The sentiment strip is from this from SRM sticker sheet.

This die cut window that comes in two that :)I used the larger one on this card and the smaller size is on my wish list...yes.. I need them both and these matching shutters. I have made many window cards in the past and these window die cuts (from Memory Box) will be a HUGE time saver for me. Have you tried the new Spellbinder M-Bossibilities? Love the deep impression they give and this one you see on my card. They have two different sides that really separates them from any other embossing folder but, you might know that already?? Have you been crafty this summer?? I would love to hear what you have been up to. Thanks for poppin in. Hugs, Kathy

Thought I would share my favorite windwo card that I created last year...check it out here and this one was a fun one for me.
Have you checked out my Copic giveaway

Copic Markers

Copic Giveaway

Hello Friends, How are you today?? I am so excited to bring you a GIVEAWAY today! Slowly I have been replacing my "Ciao" markers with the "Sketch" markers . I decided the best thing to do is to give away my CIAO markers...TWO BUNDLES of markers for my blog readers! I am always so grateful for your support :) If you want to enter the Copic marker giveaway the details will be at the bottom of the post.

Mini Copic Coloring Chart
I always pack some markers with me when I travel and usually just just grab random colors. This color chart is an example how you can pair different color combinations. You don't need to pair numbers up...for example B02 and B04 or B06 when coloring and blending. If you are anxious to try this I suggest starting with a small image because it's easier to blend.  I love the whimsey of this stamp from Lawn Fawn and thought it was perfect for my color chart. Here and here are a few other color charts I have done in the past. I plan on bringing to you more videos once I move... we still are here and should be in our new house end of Sept.

To avoid duplicating colors when shopping for markers I like to use this "Copic" booklet to keep me organized (the book comes in black and white) .I have some friends that refer to their book to select colors before coloring their images. (yes...I do too sometimes)

and now for the giveaway details:

Copic Coloring & Card Kit Winner

Hello Friends, I have a quick share today... a card I created for the Penny Black blog.  You may have noticed that I love this flower stamp from PB called "Petal Party" The shapes of the petals are so pretty and have a geometric look to them that I like. Here is another card that I recently made with the stame transparent set of stamps.
My images were colored with Copic markers. ( I used YG21, YG41, BG96, YE21, B06)
Stayed tuned because soon I will be sharing some unusual color combos when coloring with Copics or alcohol markers.
The paper are scraps from my August card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I will be giving away a new card kit EACH month so you may want to
subscribe for my blog updates so you don't miss out. Click here for that.
The sentiment is from this sticker sheet....gasp a sticker... yes!  I love them ! ...and I love how they are available in white too.
Have you seen my UTube video's demonstrating how I color? I used the same technique on the flower as I did in this video. Once I move I  plan on doing more videos on a regular basis & if you would like to subscribe click here and click on "Subscribe" on top of the video). After you adhere your flower to your card don't forget to put a heavy coat of glossy accents in the center. I love using these small bottles.

Congrats to Raven
for winning this August Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp (see my post here). Thanks Simon Says for treating my blog readers to this yummy giveaway.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thank YOU for taking the time to stop by. Hugs, Kathy
