world card making day

Hello Friends!! I'm so excited that today is World Card Making I thought it was but, I found out it's really on October but, I decided to procede and celebrate anyway with some of my favorite things. Basic Grey, Copic Markers, Penny Black, Simon Says Stamp die cuts, Spellbinders and SRM stickers. They really are my favorites and if you poke around my blog you will find it's true.
This leaf from Penny Black called fall foliage is perfect for fall and it can be colored to change with the seasons.

Don't you love the strip with the holes?? It's one of Simon Say's dies that I use all the time. The sentiment is from this SRM stickers. I used a big, fat vintage button to tie everything together... literally! As you may have guessed the yummy paper is from Basic Grey and the Spellbinders die is Labels of my favorites.  I colored the leaf with Copic markers and drew a line with glossy accents for veins in the leaves. I hope with  my upcoming move that I will be back for the correct World Card Making Day. Have a great week! Hugs, Kathy

BasicGrey card sketch

Hello Friends, It's me again today :) I am back to share this wonderful card sketch brought to you from BasicGrey
This is a sneak peek of my card created with BasicGrey's Lucille Collection. The colors in this collection are so delicious that the only problem I ran into was which ones to use!! It's amazing to me that I managed to design a card without ANY stamping!! Imagine that!
I enjoyed working with the paper so much I made a bonus card with my leftovers... I created some dimensional embellies from the stickers in the collection. If time wasn't an issue I would have kept on creating. At the BasicGrey blog today you will find the techniques I used and I hope you will enjoy them. Thanks for your visit I SO appreciate you! Hugs, Kathy

P. S. Here is a link for SCRAPDOTS.
P.S.S. Shame on me...I had more to giveaway than I remembered. I forgot to add the SRM sticker sentiments and the Hero Arts sentiments to my prize package until I received them I realized my mistake!!  There is only two days left to enter. All of the info is at the bottom of this post.

basic grey giveaway - blog hop

Hello and a warm welcome to you. Today is  BasicGrey's  Aspen Frost blog hop! I am so happy you are here and promise that you will be inspired with the projects and cards in today's hop :) To start at the beginning click here...or you may be arriving from Lisa Dickinson blog here.
Aspen Frost
Charming and familiar, wild and sweet, a juxtaposition of Christmas past and present, Aspen Frost by BasicGrey holds all the joy and tradition of a homespun holiday. In neutral birch, iced cranberry, red hot cinnamon, dazzling white, glacier blue and green apple, Aspen Frost is the comfort and blessing of yummy pies, sparkling drinks and a warm flame burning in the hearth.

How's that for a description....gotta love it and seriously the paper speaks for it's self. Honestly I haven't met a BasicGrey 6x6 or 12x12 that I didn't like. I love this soft and cream loopy flowers on the face of my card...and the on the background ..the snowflake paper is so soft and just so pretty!! Even though this is a holiday paper it can easily be used for any occasion as you can see in my second card.
The shadow box card was created with Spellbinders "Wonky Rectangles" and the beautiful papers of Aspen Frost. Below the next card  I have a mimi tutorial  Can you see the frost on the ornaments? I used some Rock Candy distress stickles.
Aspen Frost
On the back of the "open Sleigh" paper is this beautiful birch paper and I just wanted to make a simple quick card for any gender. Note the background of the sentiment's called "Oh what fun" and I love it.
Applying Glossy Accents on the lettering from the sticker pack is fun and looks so cool.
This paper is called "Tin Solider" and I just had to cut out the ornaments for my shadow box card.  You can see which ones I cut out from the paper by the arrows.
See how my twine is "standing" out horizontally?? Just coat the twine with some Glossy Accents and it can literally stand up to anything.  Perfect for nice bows or to bend for an ornament hook. I just used my fingers to coat the twine with the G.A. and let it dry.
When I am creating a frame type card I like to use Scrap Dots instead of any kind of pop dots. It's so much faster and you dont' see the white foam... plus you can make it higher than pop dots depending on how much you squeeze out.
