giveaway for World Card Making Day

Hello Friends, Welcome to World Card Making Day! Do you remember that two weeks ago I got my dates mixed up and made this card to celebrate? I really wanted to make a themed card like I did with this one for 2010 but, with the upcoming move that didn't happen.
I thought I would share the cards in the final phase then I decided to add more stuff!! (sorry for the bad photo) In this post you will see the new and improved card on the left AND IF YOU LEAVE A COMMENT YOU CAN WIN SSS OCTOBER'S CARD KIT...DETAILS HERE
Would you have left the cards more clean & simple?? I just couldn't bring myself to leave them as is. Would  love to hear your opinion.
This embossing folder from Spellbinders is reversible and their embossing folders give you such a nice and deep impression unlike many other companies. Is it bad to want every embossing folder that Spellbinders has?
I wanted to point out the leaves in this photo... I added glossy accents to only parts of the's a neat look and another way to get more dimension.

In this photo I want to share that I added white dots in the flowers centers and proceeded to add a blop of glossly accents on top. The flowers were colored with Copic markers and I added some white gel pen accents on the petals.
Thanks for taking the time to stop my blog and celebrate with me for World Card Making Day. Leave me a comment to win this beautiful stamp from Penny Black.
I will randomly select a winner next weekend. I hope you will consider to join my "following" or "register" if you don't already. Thanks again and have a happy weekend. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. Be sure to stop by Penny Black for lots of prizes and contests today that I think you won't want to miss :)

giveaway SSS october card kit

Hello Friends, How have you been??? Goodness...sorry it's been so long since my last post.  I think it's safe to say that by Halloween we will be in our new digs!! That overwhelming and exciting feeling is sinking in a big way :)
This is Simon Say's Stamp October Card Kit and I am THRILLED TO SAY THAT
I HAVE ONE OF SSS OCTOBERS CARD KIT TO GIVE AWAY! thank YOU Heidi :) Just say "HI"to me in the comment area and I'll pick a winner next weekend.
Each  month I delight in seeing what surprises await me in my Card Kit boxes. This month I was so excited to see another stamp set with this beautiful flower! (Kristina does an amazing job creating beautiful stamps for Simon) ! This large chipboard sentiment is worth every penny. I added black enamel accents to mine. Take note of this beautiful chipboard coaster that I cut in half to get make another card with will see the other half in my next post.
I had to show you the glossy enamel accents in all it's glory (that I covered the "Always" with). Did you notice how I used my white gel pen to make lines adding a detail to the petals?? Each seed in the middle of the flowers has a blob of glossy accents on it.
The fun center of the flower I cut a few times cutting each a slightly different way to give me a variety of sizes to use as embellishments. I should mention that the stamped sentiment "& Forever" I used this die from Spellbinders to get the wonderful shape and lightly distressed it so the shape would stand out.
Thanks so so much for your visit and I hope you are good. Hugs, Kathy

Hello Friends, As you know it's still STAMPtember™ at Simon Says Stamp and even though you saw these I still wanted to share them on my blog just in case you missed them.

Creating these four cards was a labor of love that I enjoyed immensely! I would love to hear if you have tried this technique (USING THE MINI MISTERS WITH COPIC INK??) If you missed my guest spot at Simon Says you can see it here. Below I will give you a quick refresher... if you are on. Supply list will be at the bottom. :)

Stamp twice ...once on the masking paper. Cut image away from the masking paper and place on your card stock. Keep in mind the cutting doesn't have to be prefect because you will be blending with the same ink.
Spray your papers using this color catcher. If you dont' have one I recommend it. These are the colors I used. First I started with ONE color then decided to add another one. So much fun!

Once you lift your mask off put it back onto the blue backing of the masking paper. Use a Copic marker to add a darker color from the same family to highlight your image
Learn from your I should have masked off the snowy area so instead I blotted off some of the color with the various ink and colored it green.
Then use a rag and the various ink to add texture to your grass. Use a heat gun after coloring so you don't over saturate your paper. I added a pink highlight around the image for something different and covered the snowy dots with enamel accents.

Don't you love what enamel accents can do. I always use it for animals eyes and usually the nose too.
The snow that was on the stamp needed to come from somewhere so I used this cloud die to complete my card. Notice the wobble spring behind the how these give an nice edge to your cards. I trimmed my wobble sprint to fit behind his head. I think that's it...Any questions just send me an email or if you want to share that would be lovely too. I know you are busy so a big thanks for taking the time to pop in. Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy
