new studio

Hello Friends, It's me again :) I think after blogging for a few years you can tell that I am a pretty private person? I am so grateful for your support that I couldn't help sharing my new studio with you all. I promise to keep you posted as I add my antiques and all my stuff if you want?
This photo of the new studio is in the bare bones stage. I am looking forward to basking in white space and lots of light. I tell everyone that once I am moved I will roll on the floor cause I am so dang excited!!

The vintage globes on the antique table I shared in Part 1 of my OLD studio. (look in the top left corner on the photo). In Part 2. I shared the antiques I collected and put to use. In Part 3. I showed you my prize antique for my buttons. Part 4. was how I stored my copics and inspiring cards from friends.

It will be fun to see how different everything looks in the new studio and how it all comes together. I can't decide of I should do a large bulletin board again but, feel like I need it all behind me again??

Can you spy the Ikea drawer units??

Thanks for letting me share. Have a great day, Kathy
P.S. I think it's safe to say Thanksgiving WILL be in the new house :)

Simons Say's Stamp Nov card kit

Hello Friends, Thanks for all of your lovely comments about my daughter's homecoming photo ... you know how to make a girl smile :)
I'm heading out to Minnesota with my mom and twin sister for a renunion with my"kissin cousins". Most of them are from North Dakota and we are so excited!! BUT, .... wouldn't you know it that my new Simon Say's Card kit showed up today and I had to sit down and play despite everything that I have to do. I love the exclusive stamp set in the kit and the basic grey papers and BUTTONS!
Have a splendid weekend! Hugs, Kathy
P.S. Always so grateful for your visit :)

Hello Friends, Today I am wishing you a happy day. How are things going for you?? Me...taking a little break tonight to assemble this card. Lots of fun new products on this card from Penny Black, Simon Say's Stamp and Spellbinders. Just click on the photos in the supply list if you are curious.

I have been organizing my paper and found this pretty check.

I wanted to share how I cut the pumpkins apart and created my background. In this post I show you how I inked the background with distress ink.

To maximize the sentiment banner I added some pop dots. Have a happy day. Hugs, Kathy
P.S. I promise to announce the winners soon and thanks for your patience. PLUS more giveaways soon.

giveaway for World Card Making Day

Hello Friends, Welcome to World Card Making Day! Do you remember that two weeks ago I got my dates mixed up and made this card to celebrate? I really wanted to make a themed card like I did with this one for 2010 but, with the upcoming move that didn't happen.
I thought I would share the cards in the final phase then I decided to add more stuff!! (sorry for the bad photo) In this post you will see the new and improved card on the left AND IF YOU LEAVE A COMMENT YOU CAN WIN SSS OCTOBER'S CARD KIT...DETAILS HERE
Would you have left the cards more clean & simple?? I just couldn't bring myself to leave them as is. Would  love to hear your opinion.
This embossing folder from Spellbinders is reversible and their embossing folders give you such a nice and deep impression unlike many other companies. Is it bad to want every embossing folder that Spellbinders has?
I wanted to point out the leaves in this photo... I added glossy accents to only parts of the's a neat look and another way to get more dimension.

In this photo I want to share that I added white dots in the flowers centers and proceeded to add a blop of glossly accents on top. The flowers were colored with Copic markers and I added some white gel pen accents on the petals.
Thanks for taking the time to stop my blog and celebrate with me for World Card Making Day. Leave me a comment to win this beautiful stamp from Penny Black.
I will randomly select a winner next weekend. I hope you will consider to join my "following" or "register" if you don't already. Thanks again and have a happy weekend. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. Be sure to stop by Penny Black for lots of prizes and contests today that I think you won't want to miss :)
