basic grey sneak peek

Merry Christmas and or Happy Holidays to you all. I hope it's been a magical season for you. I  wanted to share a sneak peek that's on the BasicGrey blog today. I created a tutorial about a fun way to get more out of your rub ons. Be back soon, Hugs, Kathy

Hello Friends, Just a quick pop in today to share this card and announce some winners. The leaves on this die cut from Simon Says Stamp really pop with dimension. I "cut" the vines out twice and layered them on top of each other and bent the leaves up. I used a few different green markers and a white gel pen for some detail. Such a pretty wreath for any season :)
And ..... now we have some winners. Congrats ladies!!
The winner of Simons Says Stamps December Card Kit as seen in this post is Sandra.
The winner of the Star die cut as seen in this post is Maryann.

Please email your addresses to I am waiting to hear from "Red Gem" for winning Furry Christmas. Thanks and best of luck as your make the final touches on your holiday and or gathering with friends and family. I really enjoyed reading your comments about ... if you were in the holiday spirit or not.... Thanks for taking the time to share with me and for your visit. Hugs, Kathy

Hello Friends, How are you??
I know we are well into December but, it's never to late to giveaway one of Simon Says Stamps Card Kits!
I can promise you I will be making some Valentines card with this card kit all the beautiful papers from Pink Paislee
Just leave me a comment telling me if you in the holiday spirit & I will pick a winner next week sometime.
(I'm not so good at setting dates as of late)
Below is a mini tutorial on creating ornaments from patterned paper.  The shapes of the ornaments are cut from these & these Spellbinders die cuts. One day I will buy these because all three ornaments in a cluster will look FAB!
BTW.... herehere, here &  here are some other ornament cards I have made with the dies.
I love this vintage paper so I centered my die cut onto the images on the paper that I wanted to cut out with the die cut.
Add some distress ink in some fun colors and brown ink on the edges. Use a brush to apply this for the most beautiful iridescence. (be sure to clean your brush right away and these are my all time favorite brushes. ) Note that the paper will change below.
I love the stamp set sentiment called "Merry  Everything" in the kit and it can be purchased separately too. I lined up three of the sentiments on this fiskars stamp press and stamped away on the background paper. Super easy with the stamp press to line everything up.

Are you familiar with the card kits? Every month you will find a beautiful exclusive stamp set . I love how each card kit always contains some special embellishment that I have't seen before  besides beautiful papers etc. This month it was this and this. I was determined to use the festive holly. I was able to carefully bend the tips of the holly so it looks super realistic on my ornaments & gave my card that little extra something special.
I wanted to show you how it came out before adding the ornaments.  I still haven't unpacked my twine or can't find it so i cut some paper that resembles string to "hang" the ornaments on my card. Hope you like them and I so appreciate your visit during this busy holiday season. Hugs, Kathy
P.S Have you seen the new exclusive Valentine goodies at Simon?? OH MY!! You can check them out here.
