Valentine mini cards

Hello Friends, I hope you had a wonderful and happy Christmas!! You always hear about talk of a let down after the holidays and I hope you are not experiencing any of that. Today at the Penny Black BLOG  Valentine mini cards are being featured by each designer.


I just love this image ... the possibilities are endless.

Below is the set of two mini cards that I create for the blog. I used two oval nesties for the body of the trees and  Tombo markers but, any will do the trick. Don't you find it so relaxing to water color?



For the grass I used worn lettuce distress ink and I wrapped the heart with some colored embroidery floss.


I have another card using this entire image that I will post another time because I still have to photograph it.

 The hearts and the flower are from this image to the left...another one of my favorites.

I forgot to mention the first card I used copic markers and the mini cards I used Tombo water color markers. Sorry I don't have a supply list today I have family waiting for me.

wine gift cards & an ornament

Hello Hello my friends, I started working on this a few weeks ago and never finished it. All I had to do was cut out the flowers and jazz it up. So I put on my thinking hat and used some tacky tape for the first time to apply the glitter strips.


The gold at the bottom is part of the ornament hanger I used to photograph this ornament.
If you don't have a glue pen I really recommend one especially if you like glitter. The glue pen is how I applied the glitter accents on the flowers. The stamped images were colored with copic markers.

Supplies:

The holly tags were stamped on watercolor paper with gold embossing powder then I applied the color with distress ink and lots of pearl water. Love the sheen on them.


I stamped the background first on the red panel, distressed them,  then used my heat gun to dry it. Once dry I used white embossing powder to stamp the sentiment. You might notice after distressing with the reds I used a tad of walnut on the edges only.

Decorating 101 & chocolate pretzels

Hello Friends, How are you today??  I have been busy...busy...just  like all of you I'm sure. I will be serving up dinner for 19 on Christmas Eve so my tables are top priority for me and I thought I would share with you. I am a big collector and for many many years I have been buying these mini trees on sale after Christmas. I have been waiting for the snow to go on sale too and this particular snow goes quite a long way and you can find it here. This snow makes my trees and village people look festive and special. The kids love it too.

This is the teen table. I have been collecting these caroler dolls for over 20 years. I love them so much.


This is the adult table. One of the trees is a candle and some of the trees I don't even like but, when you cluster them together they look great. The penguins are really inexpensive but, look so regal in a bowl of snow. (antique punch bowl)

I have a nutcracker collection too. The after Christmas sales are a perfect way to start collecting or add to a collection.

I made some chocolate covered pretzels for my lovely neighbors. The SRM stickers were the perfect way to jazz up my packaging quickly!

These really taste so yummy...the salty and sweet!!


My husband commissioned me to make some tags for these UGLY gold wine bags. I did my best to cover them without spending to much time. More SRM stickers and a Penny Black stamp.


I have will have another wine tag and ornament to share on Thursday. Until then have a great day!

Hello Friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend :) Today you will find lots of "Thank You" cards at the Penny Black blog. Each designer used one of Penny Black's Christmas stamps to create their thank you card. I decided to make a set of cards to thank someone who invited us to a dinner party.


These cards were fun to make and I was able to finally let go ( not so easy to do ) of some of my vintage buttons that I purchased in Rhode Island. I packaged the set of cards up with these crystal clear envelopes here. Each card is tucked inside one of the crystal clear envelopes then I stacked them and made the band with ribbon etc.





I started out with some white card stock and stamped the flowers with Memento ink. You can color the the flowers with markers, pencils or chalks. I used Copic makers (B000, B00, B02, BG04) Distress the edges with a light hand using broken china and faded jeans.  I cut two masks out of copy paper and stamped the script background in faded jeans.



Add a little walnut to the edges of the kraft paper. If you have a machine a bit of machine stitching looks nice....faux stitching would look good as well. Can you believe that I didn't cut out anything??? Wow right?? 



What did you do this weekend? I coated over 80 pretzel rods with chocolate and sprinkles, crushed heath bars and a few other things. I'll share them with you later. Have a great week! Hugs, Kathy
