yes we have a ...... winner

Hello Friends, Super quick post today but, before we get started how are you?? I have been crazy busy getting my house packed and organized. I have a feeling it will take months because I'm an avid collector.

 I am sure you are wondering who the lucky winner is?? Well before I say so I have a beautiful stamp set to giveaway. It's called "Love Assortment" . Here is a card I created with the rose. Do you use a Dove Blender pen to water color a image??

Hello Friends, How are you? I am finding that I just can't keep up with the weeks passing so quickly. I did find some time to  make another video about water coloring with Tombow watercolor markers & my favorite Penny Black butterfly . I feel like I have more control with a Blender pen & Tombow's blender pen rather than with a paint brush. I created the video especially for Simon Says Stamp and I hope you find it useful.

These papers are so delicious and look so beautiful with the Tombow colors. The first layer was stamped and distressed. (You will find the colors I used at the bottom of the post in the supply list.) I love to layer these sentiments from SRM stickers. To layer sentiments at varying heights I like to use to different kinds of pop dots. This and this and I guarantee that you will use both. 

I have created so many cards using Tombow's water color markers. If you would like to see a few of them click here, here, here & here. 

Just to remind you that each post will have a simpler version of my first card and this is my simple. When I colored this butterfly it was much faster because I did less shading on this butterfly than the  the first butterfly (and what you see in the video). Do you like how the sentiment pops on this card? 

I always trace over the antenna's lines to thicken them that way they are much easier to cut out. 

These butterflies have a spot in the video too. For these babies I embossed the images on water color paper. In the video I explain that I would rather use this paper. I just like the look better for some reason. BUT, you need to be more careful so I caution you :)

If you are careful and don't over saturate your paper you get this look ...the look that I like.  It looks like the paper is ready to pill (ball up) It's sort of a velvety, slightly nubby texture rather than the smooth texture that the paper has. Do you think I am crazy?? If you try this please send me a link to your card because I would love to see it :)

Hello Friends, I hope this post finds you well and happy? I apologize for my delay in posting...there is just so much going on I had to let this great news about Lily Pad slip :(   Sorry Lily Pad for my delay.

Hello Sweet Friends,How are you? I am happy to bring you two cards that are being featured on The Penny Black Blog today. The card on the right is the more simple version of my first card using this brushstroke background stamp from Penny Black. For the card on the left I stamped the "Hearts All Over" with StazOn Teal Blue on white card-stock. I added more color to the hearts by coloring them with Copic markers.

Five coats of Glossy Accents we applied to four of the hearts (after coloring all of the hearts). You must wait for each coat to dry completely before adding the next layer so plan ahead :) 
When you are satisfied with your hearts dimension add a final layer of Crackle Accents.
I hope you get a chance to try this. The dimension is so cool with the multi layers. 

The background sentiment is from this transparent set & was stamped with this ink, then embossed with Clear Embossing powder. (The idea was for the words on the background card stock to be shinny like the hearts on the front.) 

Using a spellbinder circle I die cut a hole on scrap paper that fit my card base. Stamp on top of the open area with this ink centering one of the hearts in the open area. After the ink dries color the center heart and the area around the heart. Apply Crackle Accents to the heart and let dry. (On this card I skipped the multi layers so it was super fast to create.) Don't forget to stamp your sentiment with the teal ink. 

I was tempted to rub the hearts with some red ink to stain the cracks but, didn't want to make them to prominent. I hope you are enjoying seeing two cards on each post and I say it all the time but, I mean it each time too. Thanks so much for your visit. Hugs, Kathy
