Hello Friends, How was your week? Do you get any crafty time? Today I have a mini coloring tutorial for you that I created for The Mama Elephant blog. Before we get started I thought I would share the cards I made for their stampede in Feb.

Mama Elephant is having a spot light on me and I am so excited and honored! I love their stamps, style and the kind, beautiful people behind the scenes.

I thought  you might enjoy seeing my spelling blunder. Often I tend to jump ahead and skip a letter while I am creating. I was determined to fix this card instead of throwing it away. For the background I stamped "Sketchy Letters" in the best white ink I have found.  I colored another Honey Bunny, added a hill and die cut the inside of this die again, stamped and assembled the card. 

1. color the image with some alcohol markers 2. find a rag with lots of texture 3. moisten the rag with the Colorless Blending Solution & press lightly on the image with the rag for a second then lift 4. dry with a heat gun from the back of the paper 5.  I often make the eyes larger & love to add enamel accents for larger eyes. Be sure to practice on some scrap paper before adding the enamel accents to your image. 6. the final result

origami day three

Hello Friends, Welcome to DAY THREE of Mama Elephant  Spring release 2014! Today's ORGAMI stamp set is so so clever & so unique! I thought it would be kinda cool to use one of the stamps in a geometric way by repeating it 4 times including upside down. What do you think? If you missed the first few days you can see day1 here & day2 here.  MY FAVORITE CARDS that I created for the release were on this day just in case you might have missed them?

Use the brush tip of a marker (I used a Copic marker) and "feather" with short wispy strokes to create a neat look on the stamped image. Start with the lighter color first and repeat with the darker color.

Green feathering was added to the corners then I added white dots on the black lines with my all time favorite white gel pen. I always suggest to warm the tip on your finger of the white pen to get it started. Works like a charm. :)

Wink of Stella's clear glitter pen/marker was added to the hearts and when it's dry I added glossy accents. The beautiful green edge is from this "Postage" die cut from Simon Says Stamp. Hello Friends, Welcome to DAY TWO of Mama Elephant  Spring release 2014! Today's card was super fun to make because I was able to color. However, for those of  you who enjoy stamping with colorful inks this set is for you. Check it out here.

If you are using two Copic colors that are NOT close in the color family such as B06 & YG07.... here's a tip. Literally... take the tip from one of the colors and dip it into the lid of the other marker where there is color or take the color from the other  tip of the marker. (see photo 3) I hope I am making sense :[
