origami day three

Hello Friends, Welcome to DAY THREE of Mama Elephant  Spring release 2014! Today's ORGAMI stamp set is so so clever & so unique! I thought it would be kinda cool to use one of the stamps in a geometric way by repeating it 4 times including upside down. What do you think? If you missed the first few days you can see day1 here day2 here.  MY FAVORITE CARDS that I created for the release were on this day just in case you might have missed them?

Use the brush tip of a marker (I used a Copic marker) and "feather" with short wispy strokes to create a neat look on the stamped image. Start with the lighter color first and repeat with the darker color.

Green feathering was added to the corners then I added white dots on the black lines with my all time favorite white gel pen. I always suggest to warm the tip on your finger of the white pen to get it started. Works like a charm. :)

Wink of Stella's clear glitter pen/marker was added to the hearts and when it's dry I added glossy accents. The beautiful green edge is from this "Postage" die cut from Simon Says Stamp. The Mama Elephant blog is filled with lots of beautiful cards from the "Origami"stamp set so click here to see all the cards from the design team. Thanks again to Mama Elephant for letting me join in with their release this week.  Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

Hello Friends, Happy weekend to you! Just a super quick share today because I have lots of craftiness to get today. This is one of those stamp sets that just makes you happy from Lawn Fawn called. "Let's Roll" !!!
The background was stamped with SSS gorgeous "Sea Glass" ink and matching paper. The glittery accents gave my card that little extra happiness with this pen. Glossy Accents on the soy sauce lid.

your my type

Hello Friends, How are you doing? Braving the cold or hot temps? Today I am popping with a super quick post with a card and two butteries for my pin board.
The sweet typewriter is one of the stamps from Simon Says Stamps newest release. The flowers are from the February Card Kit.
I always enjoy stamping a background especially when the ink matches the paper. Love this "Sea Glass ink!" Note: I carried the stamped background pattern onto the white card stock.
This Micro pen made it possible to draw letters on the typewriter keys. Wink of Stella pen was used on the heart and then I applied Glossy Accents to the keys and heart.
For each image I colored on my card ... I stamped an extra image to color on a blank butterfly for my pin board. The typewrite is from this stamp set.
I masked off the flowers when I created this butterfly and colored all the images for today with Copic markers. You can find the flower stamp set here. Let me know if you have any questions and a big thanks for your visit today. Hugs, Kathy

shirtless santa

Hello Friends, How are you? I'm making a mad dash from the kitchen to post these super quick cards I made for "A Blog Named Hero" Dear Santa Series. This week it's quick cards and that was a challenge for me but, I loved that I was able to do it.

You will find that if you add just a tad of blending that you can color pretty quickly. Doesn't this santa from Jane's Doodles rock? I thought it would be fun for a shirtless santa? I was tempted to add a belly button but, opted out of that lol. Hero Arts new "Thank You Blackboard" stamp is perfect for a quick card. I used this Luxe ink for a bright cheery red background.
If you want to make an even faster card cut the image in half!! This die cut can be for you project lifers or an awesome background. I layered the die cut several times before popping my image onto the card.
If you are muffin lover I just posted Cranberry Orange Muffins on KathyDishes.com. Have an wonderful Thanksgiving if you are in the USA. Hugs and Peace, Kathy
P.S. A big thanks to A Blog Named Hero! I had such fun creating for their Hey Santa feature. Check out the other quick cards here on their blog
