honey bunny day one

Hello Friends, Welcome back! All this week I will continue playing along with Mama Elephant stamps I'm super excited and as you can see their stamps are F.U.N. and oh so adorable!!

Before we started I want to let you know that in the next few weeks you will see a total blog makeover here at The Daily Marker. This is been in the works for over a month and I am so excited for you to see in NEW blog!! For those of you who subscribe and are getting a cluster of posts at once in your inbox .... that will change with the new blog :)

Combing my favorite things----- adorable stamp + die cuts + stencils = special card for that someone special. The most adorable bunny is from this stamp set called, "Honey Bunny". The heart was a leftover from the card in this post and the perfect background stencil is a Kelly Purkey product pared with some distress ink.  NOTE: I cut the tail on the "s" and looped it at the bottom of the heart.
You get lots of depth when you color a die cut. It's super easy if you leave it in the paper. The "Big Thanks" die cut from SSS has so many possibilities and uses PLUS it becomes dramatic when it's center stage on your card.
Keep in mind that you don't need to spend time blending. If you want you can blot some blending solution with a rag on your coloring and the solution will work it's magic for you. Adding glossy accents can cover any imperfections that you think you might have.
When you color over the entire area with a light color starting where the darker color meets the lighter color first you will find it blends easier. Please email me if you have any questions :)

See you tomorrow with another card to celebrate Mama Elephants newest release. Check out the other cards on the Mama Elephant blog here. Thanks for popping in. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. A few more days left on THIS huge GIVEAWAY OF Simon Says Stamp INKS & Cardstock.

kelly purkey new release - two cards

Hello ... hello Friends, How has your week been? I'm thrilled that Friday is finally here because we will be visiting our DD for parents weekend at her college. Beyond excited!!

On another note I have two cards to share from Kelly Purkey's NEW, exciting and festive release. I think the products will get you in the holiday spirit! It's super easy to create a background with this set of inks and this NEW stamp set called, "Santa's Coming". I stamped the deer, cut it out, added glossy accents and sprinkled on distress glitter. Once it's dry tie some twine around his neck.

This card was oh so simple with a few of the right supplies. Isn't the die fabulous?... It's called "Five W's" I cut several strips of card stock from this paper pack and glued them all together. Then, I die cut my paper with the  "Five W's" .
Spray with a sheer shimmer. EASY!
If you wrap the twine around something you can heat set it (thanks Sandi for the tip). I glued a few of the twine loops with Glossy Accents on my card.
TO SEE THE REST OF THE RELEASE CLICK HERE. I can't wait to create more cards with this release. Super great goodies!

Off to pack! Have a wonderful weekend and thank YOU for your visit today! Hugs, Kathy

kelly purkey

Hello Friends, How are you today? It's another washi tape day!! well sort of....I learned from many of your comments from the Simon/Kelly Purkey blog hop that you all need to use some of your washi tape :)
The BasicGrey candy buttons fit perfectly in the O and matched the washi perfectly. Love it when things come together so perfectly! This die cut is super fun ... mount it on some colored card stock & you will you get a nice effect. The super adorable flamingo is fun to layer with accent colors.. note I used green and aqua card stock from this great paper pack.
You will be surprised to see that what fun patterns that will form in front of your eyes when you use your washi I created a border by placing the washi on some card stock and cutting around the pattern.
Just a quick post today. Have a great week! Hugs, Kathy

"CARD"  NUMBER ONE:
If you ask me you need these feathers. I love the size of the feathers especially the width. The zebra stencil looked cool on the feather and on the background using Distress ink and Hero Arts inks. If you are a project lifer the die cut I used on my card is a way to extend your supplies.
Photo1: use a dauber to ink up your card stock with the zebra stencil.
Photo 2: Add some distress ink & dry. Add distress stickles.
Photo 3: Trim the "and so the adventure.... " die cut & "pop" on your card.
Photo 4: Add another feather in brown before popping your colorful feather.

CARD NUMBER TWO:
The second I saw this stamp set I knew I needed to use it immediately! Stamping a background makes me happy. A new way to attach vellum is washi tape!
Photo 1: Stamp image with a variety of Hero Arts inks. (see links at bottom of post)
Photo 2: Add highlights with some Copic markers. If you are new to Copics I suggest a "blending set"
Photo 3: Add a few more colors
Photo 4: Stamp on vellum. Adhere some washi to card stock and trim for an accent on the vellum. You can hid the glue behind the washi tape.

CARD NUMBER THREE:
What fun to put together this card for a friend who worries a lot. After paper piecing the letters... the white letters were added at the bottom of the card for a twist.
This washi from the Kelly Purkey brand from Simon makes a cool pattern when you line it up on some card stock. I used this as an addition layer on my card.
