honey bunny day one

Hello Friends, Welcome back! All this week I will continue playing along with Mama Elephant stamps I'm super excited and as you can see their stamps are F.U.N. and oh so adorable!!

Before we started I want to let you know that in the next few weeks you will see a total blog makeover here at The Daily Marker. This is been in the works for over a month and I am so excited for you to see in NEW blog!! For those of you who subscribe and are getting a cluster of posts at once in your inbox .... that will change with the new blog :)

Combing my favorite things----- adorable stamp + die cuts + stencils = special card for that someone special. The most adorable bunny is from this stamp set called, "Honey Bunny". The heart was a leftover from the card in this post and the perfect background stencil is a Kelly Purkey product pared with some distress ink.  NOTE: I cut the tail on the "s" and looped it at the bottom of the heart.
You get lots of depth when you color a die cut. It's super easy if you leave it in the paper. The "Big Thanks" die cut from SSS has so many possibilities and uses PLUS it becomes dramatic when it's center stage on your card.
Keep in mind that you don't need to spend time blending. If you want you can blot some blending solution with a rag on your coloring and the solution will work it's magic for you. Adding glossy accents can cover any imperfections that you think you might have.
When you color over the entire area with a light color starting where the darker color meets the lighter color first you will find it blends easier. Please email me if you have any questions :)

See you tomorrow with another card to celebrate Mama Elephants newest release. Check out the other cards on the Mama Elephant blog here. Thanks for popping in. Hugs, Kathy

P.S. A few more days left on THIS huge GIVEAWAY OF Simon Says Stamp INKS & Cardstock.

giveaway

Hello Friends, What's new? Any fun plans for Super Bowl Sunday?
In the meantime.... another month has slipped by and it's time to check out Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit. As always this kit is chock full of yummy elements, papers and a beautiful stamp set. You can subscribe for only $19.95 here. The best part is you can opt out any month!
I have a SSS FEBRUARY CARD KIT TO GIVEAWAY TO A LUCKY PERSON. I WILL ANNOUNCE  a RANDOM WINNER ON FEB. 7TH along with this Giveaway.
In order to win you must check back here. Another winner will be selected if I don't hear from the winner within seven days. Worried you might miss the announcement? ... maybe you want to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss the announcement? One of my readers brought to my attention that it's not really cool to ask for an email address and I agree. This why I am asking you to check back. On my giveaways in the future I will use InLinkz and or Rafflecopter . My intent was to make it as easy as possible to enter my contests but, I realize an extra step is for your protection. Thanks for your understanding and email me if you have any questions. Thanks!
My next post I will share a card using the stamp set.
I had to break out Simon's "Falling Heart" Die cut to create both of my cards. I wanted to use so many of the beautiful floral papers  and I found it super easy to layer with this particular die cut. I scored a few of the hearts, layered more hearts on top & added vellum to some areas. The "Island Blue" ink was the perfect color and stamped so nicely. I used a layer of vellum on top of the sentiment for a super soft look.
Love how the "Falling Hearts" die cut has an entirely different look on this card. I tucked two circles behind part of the die, stamped the sentiment, popped a few of the hearts & added Glossy Accents on several hearts.
Here is a close up of both cards. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend and always delighted you took the time to stop by. Hugs, Kathy

purple onion & simon says day one

Hello Friends, Happy Day to you :) I have been excited to share these mini cards with Purple Onion stamps and Simon Says phone die cut
The sweet images make me happy. Right now Purple Onion is having a 25% off sale so you might want to check it out here.
The background was created with this beautiful stencil from Simon Says and distress ink.
In the photo below I am showing you that you really can blend quickly in a way that you will be satisfied with. Feather in some color and dampen a textured cloth with this and blot on the image.
I hope you will visit The Purple Onion blog because they have some of the best DT around. (Kelly BoothDonna Mikasa & Alice Wertz to name a few) and I love their images especially the ones that you see today from the artist Stacy Yacula. Thanks for your feedback on Rafflecopter. I was the one that messed things up. Winner will be announced soon. Thanks for your visit! Hugs, Kathy
